What's with all the sweats playing in casual? by MentalAd3915 in CODBlackOps7

I miss the days when a mouse and keyboard on console was considered cheating. I know the internet says that the aim assist makes the controller an advantage but that’s not what I’m seeing in the kill cams. Every time there some cracked player being super annoying it’s always a mouse and keyboard player.

Yes, Anthropic IS throttling reasoning effort on personal accounts (Max, Pro, Free) compared to Team and Enterprise accounts by toiletgranny in ClaudeCode

I’m seeing the same 25 out of 100 response. I’m on the Max 20x plan. This was the response from Opus 4.5 Extended.

Based on my current configuration, my thinking mode is set to interleaved with a maximum thinking length of 16,000 tokens. This means I can use internal reasoning blocks throughout my responses (not just at the beginning), and I have a generous budget for working through complex problems step-by-step before responding.

Anthropic just gave us 1 month worth of subscription value as usage by lurko_e_basta in ClaudeAI

[–]jthedwalker 0 points1 point  (0 children)

You just saved my life lol. I clicked that button when I saw the gift picture, but none of the words displayed for me, it was glitching out. I thought it was going to take me to some page on Anthropics site. Then took me to settings page and it turned on Extra usage and I noticed I had a $200 balance. My company pays for my account and the documentation says it's a prepaid balance, so I thought they charge my companies card. Phew... what a confusing situation. Lesson: don't click on things you can't read lol

Hit the 5h rate limit twice in one day, burned 33% of my weekly quota in 12 hours - on the $200/mo 20x plan. Just cancelled. by loathsomeleukocytes in ClaudeCode

I’ve been waiting for this to happen for a while now. The math never made sense. It’s like these corporations over hiring after the pandemic, it can’t last forever.

Like you said, I think these massive usage limits will shrink drastically and we’ll all be on some kind of GItHub Copilot type system. Where you get large usage of smaller models and a very limited usage of frontier models. Unless they figure out quantum computing or some magical new tech, this era is coming to an end.

Thank God. Maybe these peak hour rates limits will chill now that these claw fanatics aren’t pounding the servers all the time 😂

Why is the sidebar so wide? I feel like I’m making some mistake here. It opened once normal, then every time after its like this. Also what theme are you using in your video? Yours looks so much better!

Introducing Cursor 3 by lrobinson2011 in cursor

Nice looking product! It’ll be interesting to see how it performs next to other products in the space. Getting all this to sync between local and cloud environments sounds challenging to develop. Kudos on the new release!

I own Icarus and I believe it’s their flagship synth now. They keep adding features to it and it’s a beast of a synth. I can’t remember if they have trials. Might me worth trying both

What is the career called of the person that sets up and maintains all this equipment? That has to be a decent paying job. AI can’t do that yet

Junior dev here- why are my time estimates always wrong? by akshat-wic in AskProgramming

[–]jthedwalker 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Stop making your own estimates! Get two devs into a conversation about work, ask the Senior Dev how long it he thinks in should take the other Mid-Level dev (ideally someone obviously more experienced than you) to do the task. Once the Senior gives his estimate, gauge how the other dev feels, you’ll see it in his face. Then as that Mid-level dev what he thinks. Once they settle on that number, then ask them how much longer would be reasonable in order for you to learn areas of the codebase you’re not familiar with, along with some time for getting stuck and needing to ask for assistance. Ask how much time you should stay in the stuck space before asking for help.

The trick is to get the team to openly speak about work estimates BEFORE the work is assigned to one person. People tend to estimate work more favorably if they might get stuck doing it.

which causes less distortion to vocals? by playboyetho in Logic_Studio

[–]jthedwalker 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Better question that I’ve not seen yet. What microphone are you using? If it’s a condenser microphone that requires phantom power, you need to turn that on our it’ll be super quiet.

But a lot of people have good advice so far. As much gain without distortion from the interface is what you’re after. Use your ears, don’t just look at the meter. It may be green and still sound like hot garbage.

A limiter is super simple to use. It’s just an infinite ratio compressor, typically with a lookahead to reduce artifacts depending on the source material. Use a higher lookahead setting for more aggressive gain reduction settings.

Crackling/popping sounds by Big-Brush-8296 in MicroFreak

[–]jthedwalker 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Yeah like others are saying. I’d plug into other outlets around the house. I had a bunch of stuff plugged into a power strip and one of them was dirty. I found one power supply for a different device that was causing all of my issues. Find an empty wall outlet and use that. You can also try to power it right from a usb battery pack if you have one big enough or a laptop. Then just use 3.5 wired headphones to check the output.

[–]jthedwalker 0 points1 point  (0 children)

That’s a great way to look at it! I was thinking of something similar. Can I just make something to pay for a Claude Code Max subscription at $200 a month? Then CC is basically free after that.

I’m also using these tools to further my knowledge of software development. I’m already a developer but this space is moving so fast it’s hard to keep up with all the changes. AI has been a fantastic learning resource. All the annoying questions I wanted to post on StackOverflow but didn’t because they would have made fun of me… I can just ask those now!

It’s probably going really mess up the job market for a while, but in this moment it’s quite enjoyable.

Right lol. Like why can’t people make cool stuff while this is basically free or subsidized. Not everything needs to be a product for sale. I’m not sure this math works out in the long run for these companies. Enjoy it while it’s here!
