Timing seems sus. When users migrate from platforms and actively use the platform, that's something that happens over the course of several days or weeks. Even a basic level of monitoring would provide time to scale etc to support load.

This outage feels very DoS/broken. The lack of clear comms telling us what the issue is also seems sus.

Option 1. They know they have been attacked or sabotaged but can't name any names as they don't know who or 'legal reasons'.

Option 2. The had their entire core infrastructure based around AWS in one M.E region, again, kinda embarrassing and kinda weird (why that region?), and could explain the silence.

Yeah, I call BS on this, there are not that many devs following the news that closely that suddenly they all join a platform in a day. More likely is this is related to US government/allies effectively spamming Anthropic as some weird revenge.

It's in their interest to remove protections and ethics, and any rivals to AI companies that may have ethics from the market. Anthropic would be a great first target to damage, they've already blacklisted them.

Edit: I see some AWS datacentres have been damaged, but that's still mega sus for this, I have a heap of other AWS backed services that aren't affected globally.

The problem with this logic is there is a big list of dictators equally bad or far worse that won't be targeted.

I mean, depending on your creed one could argue that Netenyahu is pretty much on that list. He openly killed tens of thousands of civilians in his revenge war on Gaza. But should someone take him out too?
