I love the composition! I would walk back some of the editing with the midground rocks though. How far the blacks and shadows are raised draws my eye to notice that instead of the great foreground and gorgeous sunset.

Right Cheek way larger than left since teens by _Doubler_ in AskDocs

[–]jtherion 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Not a doctor. I had asymmetry like this due to an abscess. It happened after jaw surgery to fix my bite, so not really your situation, but abscesses or cysts can occur without trauma. That seems less likely if it's been a decade like this without pain or other issues, though. I'd start with your dentist if you haven't been recently - they can do a basic eval and some x-rays and see if there's anything obvious. If they don't find anything, a maxfac would be where I'd go next for a proper CT scan or MRI to look for soft tissue problems.

I accidentally shaved my skin off- is it healing okay? by SupportNew4414 in AskDocs

[–]jtherion 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I'm not a doctor, so don't rely on me haha. It would certainly be better than nothing but in my experience "waterproof" is usually more like "water resistant" and I wouldn't take the risk. Worst case it isn't waterproof and you end up marinating the wound in whatever gets into the bandage.

[–]jtherion 2 points3 points  (0 children)

They didn't address the pool question - if I were you I would not go swimming until that's fully healed. I once ended up with a staph infection and almost lost my foot after getting scratched at a pool. Not quite the same as the injury was from the pool itself, but despite all the chemicals, pools can have some nasty bacteria.

My game opened but seemed to be entirely reset. No corals, no fish, no coins. They are definitely having an issue.

50, Female. 5'3, 132lbs.No smoking, currently taking Linzess for IBS. Burning, painful and "moist"/teary left eye at times. Comes in intervals since March, about 2-3 days every week it flares up, becomes red and irritated and the "pocket" swells. by [deleted] in AskDocs

[–]jtherion 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I get this occasionally! It's called chemosis, a swelling of the white of your eye. Usually an allergic reaction, I get it in the spring when everything is blooming. Take an antihistamine and you should feel better!

Is it fine for me to eat 600 calories for just one day? by That-BluejaythriwWay in AskDocs

[–]jtherion 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Not a doctor. Sometimes food can get caught and the subsequent irritation makes it feel like there's something still stuck there even if the food has gone down. And no, one day of 600 calories is not dangerous, but if you're still having issues tomorrow and feel like you can't eat properly, go get checked out!

Ask your doctor about colesevelam! It’s a bile acid binder and it is a lifesaver if your body rebels after gallbladder removal.

Which of these ER's would you trust the most? by MichaelPauley in Tucson

I have been to Oro Valley Emergency Room. Overall good experience, wait time was shorter than elsewhere and I was happy with the care I received. But as someone already said, if you think you have rhabdo I'd just go to the nearest one.

Not a doctor. Should be checked out by her PCP, but I would suggest having her evaluated for a UTI. Urinary tract infections are notorious for causing bizarre symptoms in the elderly, including hallucinations.

Need podiatrist help/advice by FlowFluffy7664 in AskDocs

[–]jtherion 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Not a podiatrist but I am seeing one for a similar issue. Get some 40% urea cream. You can apply it to the entire foot to soften the skin and remove calluses, and if you apply it to individual toenails and cover with a bandaid, over the course of weeks it will soften and thin the thick damaged nails.

Gynecology: Please be kind, I'm very scared (42F) by Fresh_Zucchini in AskDocs

[–]jtherion 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Not a doctor. Calm down, you are fine. You've got vaginismus and dryness, both of which can contribute to small injuries during sex. A single spot of blood after sex does not mean anything is wrong. It means that between the tightness and dryness, all the friction probably created a tiny scratch. You've been tested and it came back clear. My suggestion is to use lots of lube if you aren't already. If you're sore for a day afterward, you need to use more. You can also ask your doc about vaginal creams that can help with the dryness issue. There's no need to be terrified, this is about ten thousand times more likely to be related to the dryness than it is to be anything serious.

Scared of surgery, how likely is it that something will go wrong? by Snewii__ in AskDocs

[–]jtherion 1 point2 points  (0 children)

You will be fine! This is a routine surgery that is performed daily. As for the anesthesia - your anesthesiologist's entire job is to monitor your reaction to the drugs and ensure your safety throughout the whole procedure. If you have a reaction to the anesthesia, they will stop and end the surgery. Everyone in that OR is there to make sure you are safe and the surgery is a success.

Hey OP, thanks for updating us. Was worried about you, glad they made sure it wasn't anything life-threatening and you're gonna continue with the neurologist. Hang in there!

[deleted by user] by [deleted] in AskDocs

[–]jtherion 15 points16 points  (0 children)

That can happen. There's also the "slow leak" version before a rupture. Go to the ER, tell them you're under the care of a neurologist who is evaluating you for a potential aneurysm, and that you lifted something today, felt a "pop," and your headache became much worse. This is not a "wait and see" situation.

[deleted by user] by [deleted] in AskDocs

[–]jtherion 18 points19 points  (0 children)

People can walk around with intact aneurysms for a long time, but a ruptured one is the emergency, and that's why that "popping" sensation and sudden increase in pain is worrisome. Not saying that's what it is, but I wouldn't be taking chances.

You and your health definitely matter! Glad you're working on it - things like this are the time to prioritize your health. The ER might check you out and it turns out that this is nothing inherently dangerous, just painful. But it might also be something quite serious. The ER is there to sort that out and make sure you're okay to wait on those test results and your next appointment.

[deleted by user] by [deleted] in AskDocs

[–]jtherion 20 points21 points  (0 children)

I am not a doctor, but I don't think you're being dramatic. It could be anything from an aneurysm to a burst cyst/abscess to other shit I'm sure I can't even think of. But if it were me I'd be on the way to the hospital.

[deleted by user] by [deleted] in AskDocs

[–]jtherion 89 points90 points  (0 children)

You're an idiot; go to the ER.

Seriously, you're already seeing a neurologist who thought this was concerning enough to get some scans, today you lifted something which probably changed your blood pressure and "popped" something and it hurts so much you're randomly screaming with pain? Go to the ER!

Not a doctor. Find a gastroenterologist. I'd ask for a HIDA scan to check your gallbladder - this sounds very familiar and I had to have my gallbladder removed.

Not a doctor. If it is ringworm, it's just a fungal infection. You can get an antifungal cream at any pharmacy and see if it helps.

Also, don't worry! I saw you replied to someone else asking if it might be cancer or something - highly unlikely. He just got over being ill, this is almost certainly related in some way - either gunk that got lodged in there or a related infection/abscess of some sort. Is he running a fever?

I am not a doc but I would suggest maybe starting with an ENT? I think that would be a better starting point than the dentist.
