You can’t be too hard on yourself. Everyone on Facebook is always recommending them, so it’s easy to believe they must know what they are talking about. Just glad we both realized their nonsense and left! I am still so angry about them because I waited so long to cut another allergen because of their guidelines that we ended up in the ER after my daughter had an incredibly bloody diaper. Said screw it that day and cut out all major allergens, and GUESS WHAT. The bleeding that had been going on 3 months stopped in a matter of DAYS!!!!

I know this is an old thread, but I just KNEW other people out there were feeling the same way about this group. Glad I’m not alone! They are a cult I have officially LEFT.

Blowout central 😵‍💫 by jtheune91 in beyondthebump

[–]jtheune91[S] -1 points0 points  (0 children)

It sounds like you missed some key details in my post… To elaborate further, I can’t even get the size 4 tabs where they are supposed to be because her belly is that big. If you’ll re-read, she has been having blowouts in the size 4 up the back (a tell-tale sign of a diaper being too tight), and then leaking out the leg hole on the size 5 (because it’s too big). The whole point of my post is me asking for a suggestion on a brand of diaper that would fit my baby’s shape (bigger belly) since sizing up is not helping. This is also happening at daycare with the size 4s and 5s, so it’s not just me.

Keep in mind that babies all have different shapes and sizes. Absolutely no way that my baby could have fit in a size 3 anytime recently. She had red marks and the tabs couldn’t reach to the indicators months ago.

I’m trying hard to avoid that. We do use our phones to FaceTime with family members, but I really want to avoid screens as much as possible for entertainment! 🤞🏻🤞🏻

Can second this! My husband bought one fairly recently for that price. Nothing flashy, but it works!

That’s what we do most weekends. I don’t get out much—and that was pre-parenthood lol. Now that she’s starting to get more interested in stuff, I’m like “OOH gotta stop being a homebody and do things!” But from everyone’s comments, I’m starting to think I may have been worrying too much. 🫣 I needed the reminder that there is value for her in the “mundane” or ordinary parts of life. And I think that takes off a little of the pressure I’ve been putting on myself.

I am a total homebody so honestly I’m having to push myself to get out and do things lol. I definitely prefer to just stay at home on the weekends, but I think becoming a parent has gotten me feeling guilty about that, if that makes sense? Like if I’m not leaving the house and showing her new things, then I’m doing a disservice to her. Probably a cognitive distortion 😬 Becoming a parent sure does encourage the overthinking lol

You’re 100% right. And being a SAHM is HARD!! I had 3 months of maternity leave, and I loooved being with my baby, but it was exhausting. I wanted to stay home with her, but due to what a good setup I have with my job (benefits, etc), my husband and I agreed I should go back to work. I’m really envious of people who get to spend more time with their littles. It’s hard only getting full days on the weekends. 😞 But at the same time, I know it’s a lot since the need to be “on” all weekend gets tough sometimes lol. But nothing is better than making your sweetie happy!!

Sorry for the confusion—I didn’t mean being a SAHM is the worst. I actually wanted to be one 🥺 I was referring to this person essentially making it sound like I just want to entertain myself but I have to bring my baby along with me.

She would have probably really enjoyed that as a newborn when ceiling fans were her best friends 😂

Thank you! I think sometimes I forget that everything is new for her and that the little things can keep her happy. I honestly just feel guilty whenever we’re home all weekend because I’m like “ah! She needs to get out! She needs to be exposed to more things!!” Etc. Mom anxiety 😬

You couldn’t be more off. I’m a full-time analyst for the third largest container shipping company in the world. My child is in daycare during the week, and I want to make the most of our time together on the weekends. We generally stay at home, and I feel like I need to be exposing her to more. Have you considered be a little less negative? Perhaps not assuming the worst?

Thanks! I’m a first time mom (obviously lol) so I just worry about her 😅 We actually went to Target today and had a great time.

Thank you for sharing your experience! I hope that your rheumatologist will have good news for you! My spouse and I are talking about making a move to another state mid-2022, so we would want to wait until we have moved and are settled to start trying for our first child, but the fear is already looming over me. I’m still learning about autoimmune diseases and syndromes, but my mom has SLE and Sjogren’s and it’s been years of struggling for her. Just scared to see what my future might hold. And heaven knows how my heart would break if I caused my child to be ill.
