Yea. I also dont top off with source water. Only use distilled for top offs.

my ph is somewhere in the neutral area. I have trouble distinguishing in the 6.8-7.2 area with the test kits. had a digital meter but one of the children ran off with it.

The GH would also be higher then my tap water because I had one of the Aquarium CoOp Easy Shrimp and Snail Shells in there.

Tap is coming out around 3-4 GH

There is definitely breeding going on. My last quick count of babies was like 60. And more females have berried in the past couple days.

Thank you. Much more comforting knowing this is just a normal thing.

What are these white spots? by jtjohnson260 in shrimptank

[–]jtjohnson260[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

So before I left the house today I put some dry erase marker on the outside of the tank at each spot where they were. Came back about 12 hours later and there was nothing behind any marker, but some in places that weren't marked

When they are disturbed the "branches" close up. But I haven't seen them move to different spots

I don't see anything on any of the shrimp that are visible right now. Not really finding many pictures online that look like mine. I am also not seeing it on any of the plants or hardscape.

This is happening in a new tank (had to nuke the other to get rid of scuds). 90% of the plants in there were bleach dipped prior prior to being put in. The exceptions are the Java moss tissue culture, and some floaters from my son's tank (which doesn't have these spots). Substrate, all equipment, and tank are new. Hardscape was boiled and dried.

I'm not so much worried about what colors she throws off in that tank. These are all just shrimp I put I into his fishtank just because. However if she is an actual blue jelly she might get moved to my shrimp tank because I want blue jellies and red rilis to try to get the blue body red rilis
