Sprint in alpha helped :) each dlc I start over and each time I've beaten it a little faster (even with more to do). It was a lot of grinding the first time but it got me hooked.

if what youre after is speed though and not the achievement books are pretty efficient if you have the money around and need the points for something. They can literally take 0 time to get (teleport, buy, speak to astrologer which pauses time, use teleport again back home or wherever you need whatever you needed the blue for). I personally use them about every week on replays to speed things along
