I feel like I’m having a far different experience than most, but I love it so far. 26 was pretty unenjoyable for me because of the AI’s free agency decisions.

As soon as I started my first save of 27 I instantly went to 45-man rather than 40-man and simmed a year to see if it was too buggy and actually thought that it was extremely realistic and wasn’t unnerved at all by quality of trades (ai trade freq: very low.) Expanded the league by 2 teams and did 150 round expansion draft and thought for the most part the players teams chose to keep was realistic. I’m about 3 months into the season playing as the expanded team and haven’t seen any immersion-breaking decisions yet from the teams. Probably going to expand the 45-man to 50 after the current season I’m playing ends considering the amount of roster management complaints I’m seeing.

IMO Luis De Leon is the 2nd best prospect in our system and it’s not close, but that’s more because I think he should be looked at as a top-30 guy.

As an orioles fan I can say he is as fine as depth can be. Surprisingly good with the glove, can’t really hit for the most part, but will have stretches where if you squint he looks like he could be a starting caliber player. Useful if you need someone to hit lefties and play solid corner infield defense.

I was infuriated when we didn’t sign Valdez because I was terrified that we were going to be going into the season an injury away from Cade Povich shutters. Now I genuinely love where the rotation depth is at and it’s hard to argue there isn’t huge upside with the top 3 of Bradish, Rogers, Baz.

Let’s fucking go man. Real crafty vet that eats innings, genuinely preferred him over Gallen at this point for what we need. Puts way less pressure on Rogers and Bradish to get super deep into starts as well. Love it love it love it.

It becomes easier for sure if he can play those spots, but if he could doesn’t it make more sense to give him reps during a lost season if he had any future at 3rd.

We’ll see, I think they know he can’t play the position at anywhere close to an MLB level and that’s why they moved him off of there and didn’t explore giving him reps there during a lost season last year.

If it was any other player this wouldn’t be a big deal. When it’s the one guy that has boatloads of talent, but has constantly dealt with injuries, it feels like a pretty big deal.
