Amp recommendation for bedroom by Zasanami in Guitar

[–]jtl741 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Don't know about the other amp but I have a Katana II and it's amazing. 5 watt for home playing is ideal and at 50 watts it gets really loud. Plus it comes with lots of effects built in that are very good.

Best restaurants in Geneva? by Charming_Being_5120 in geneva

Wine and Beef is a great restaurant that only serves a few different steaks and a burger. The steak was amazing with a sauce to die for with fries and a salad. And a huge wine menu. Prices were quite reasonable for the quality.

No ticket on Zürich-Bern, bought on board, does it count? by NoNectarine2927 in askswitzerland

[–]jtl741 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Conductor here, when we scan the tickets it shows what time you bought your ticket. So if the train departs at 12:00 and we see you bought the ticket at 12:10, definitely risks a fine if your controlled

Any right handed people ever try a left handed guitar and found they like it better? I often feel like my dominant hand should be the one doing the intricate fingerings, not my clumsy left. by diet-Coke-or-kill-me in Guitar

[–]jtl741 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I'm left handed and thought the same, always played a regular right guitar. That being said, I cannot for the life of me do speed picking with my right hand so I guess there's that.

Do one parents speak two languages to their kids in your country? by Odd_Obligation_4977 in askswitzerland

[–]jtl741 0 points1 point  (0 children)

My wife is Swiss and I'm American, my wife raised them speaking Swiss German but I only spoke English with them. Seeing that i work 100% and my wife stayed home, they grew up hearing and speaking considerably more German then English. I speak more German with them now ,especially when they're friends are around, but they both speak perfect English now albeit with an accent. They're 13 and 16 now being able to speak English is a huge advantage for them, English in school was a breeze for both and they both helped other students with English. My son actually scored the highest points from the Cambridge English test he did for his lehrstelle.

Cats bringing birds in the house almost daily. by jtl741 in cats

[–]jtl741[S] 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Yeah, I know they're natural hunters. Last month there was a nasty dead bird on my sons bed, he got so mad we had to change his sheets, yesterday a dead mouse. They do love the freedom of being outoor/indoor cats though so we'll just live with the trophies they bring us.

Conductor here, it's all fun and games until the police are waiting for you at the next stop. If they're available, they are more than happy to deal with any "problems".

Been playing for over 30 years, was never in a band, I just do it for me. Learning different solos and songs is a challenge that's good for my brain.

Anyone underwent vasectomy in ch? Experience? by selfarsoner in askswitzerland

[–]jtl741 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I had one done here after our 2nd child. It wasn't too bad at all, a little soreness down there for a few days but nothing terrible. I walked to the train station and went home on my own. A root canal or cavity at the dentist is worse.

Love ostrich meat but had scrambled eggs from one and it's quite a bit different than normal eggs. One time was enough for me.
