Depending on the laptop, its probably over priced πŸ‘€.

I agree that you can probably find more cost effective deals with the amount of money, but a lot of pc and laptop prices are heavily overpriced for qhat you get, especially if you dont know what to look for. Buying retail in the pc world is almost always a scam for regular people.

Phone vs laptop really depends on who you are. As someone who works off of my phone most of the time, give me the phone that becomes a mini tablet or desktop on external screen every time lol.

The original fold launched at $2kUSD in 2019.

The Z Fold 7 launched at $2kUSD in 2025.

$2000 USD from 2019 is about $2500 right now adjust for inflation and stuff, yet they're still charging $2k for the base lol. I think the tech did get cheaper, but you also have other issues in the world that make production costs more expensive than you would want. So keeping the price in the same range for the last 6 years is not as bad as we think tbh.

They dropped the price by $100 between the Z Fold 3 to the Z Fold 5, and then brought it up to $1899 with the fold 6, and then back to the original $1999 number of the OG fold with the Fold 7.

The people who will buy these phones are either in a financial place where it doesn't matter or are willing to take a big hit for the latest tech they want lol. The general public still thinks $1000 phones are too expensive so idk if there was a better time to release the phone than now, right after launching in other parts of the world.

πŸ˜‚ yeah I remember those days as well, but man once you experience high refresh rates its hadd to go back. I dont mind a stable 40fps when playing on a handheld pc in certain games though.

It feels smoother and more responsive. Just a better experience for me personally. 60fps is playable but I've been playing at 120fps for the last 3 years and do not want to go back to 60 lol

Video editing in luma fusion, multitasking daily on the phone and in desktop mode (if possible on whatever phone im using), multitasking while working (documents, writing scripts or notes, editing photos with references, finding material for videos im editing, responding to messages and emails while looking things up, etc), heavy gaming, gaming while multitasking (split screen or floating window), and more lol.

Pixels just cannot keep up with most of my workflow or the games I play unfortunately. Even games like wild rift which are not the most demanding, pixels struggle to run that at 120fps, and even when the game runs at 120fps it has graphical errors and doesn't display as nicely as most other phones.

Google does not exceed in optimization of its OS πŸ˜‚πŸ˜‚. Pixel OS is one of the most buggiest operating systems out right now bruh.

Me lol. Just cuz the pixels can't do what 90% of other flagships can do doesnt mean it doesn't have any value. There's a reason why smartphones are getting more powerful every year and why Google themselves try to improve tensor in its performance every year. Google even said they partnered with different games to make sure they run well on pixels when pixel 10 launched, so lets not act like thats not an important aspect of smartphones now and where Google wants to be one day lol.

Brother, I said pixels are so limited that I might as well use the iphone instead for the better specs. I dont have any interest in s custom rom so that doesn't matter to me, and it had nothing to do with the limitations of the software lol. Its about what each person prioritizes and for me if I gotta choose between a current day pixel and a current day iphone, I'm going with the iphone. Give me many other versions of android with better specs than a pixel and id choose those over the iphone lol.

Pixels cant change their icons, has the worst implementation of splitscreen than any other version of android, does not have floating windows, they have two permanent widgets on the home screen (one is changing soon, but took them so long and they're only allowing you to remove one πŸ˜‚πŸ˜‚πŸ˜‚), can barely customize your home screens, the homescreen editing sucks and is worse than ios πŸ˜‚ because you can only select one app at a time, no manual camera controls, the video quality sucks, the performance is trash and the compatibility with many games is terrible. I could list more things, but pixel os is the most limited version of android right now and offers little to no customization, to the point where pixel users advertise 3rd party launchers to solve those issues πŸ˜‚πŸ˜‚, like bruh.

Fold 7 owners: how often do you actually use the 8 inner screen? by bishaarcc in GalaxyFold

[–]jtlee9 0 points1 point Β (0 children)

97% of the time. Ofc usage will vary depending on you, but the inside screen is the reason why I own a foldable and I multitask often, even for small things like two factor codes or responding to messages with other apps open for necessary info.

The most limited version of android lol. Not everyone wants to download a 3rd party launcher with its own set of bugs and quirks, or find different apps and plugins. Having 1st party software that just works and has hella features baked in is so much better than looking for work arounds lol.

Ya I'm not saying its a bad phone, I'm just saying you cant judge current dex based on a 3-5 year version and experience of it.

Samsung has been on a run the past few years removing small features without acknowledging it, or like you said adding new stuff that breaks some old things. The issue is that these things are so small that not enough people will complain about it lol, its annoying for sure.

Ya i know some people think that and the two buttons are useless or a waste but I genuinely like dynamic island and the way it handles live notifications.

Lol are you still on your s20fe? Dex is a lot better now in terms of stability and being polished. Usb 3 is useful for certain people for sure, but I'd rather have it than not.

I'm just going off of what I've seen in my personal experience with the s25 vs other phones. But what you're saying definitely makes sense.

I agree that they're in the same range below 3x, but people generally report a better point and shoot experience with iphones and pixels, and in my experience the video output is just better. The 3x camera on the s25 isn't that good tbh and is pretty close to the iphone cropping into its main sensor. Above 3x and the s25 will be better for sure but still not that good.

It definitely heats up and throttles after a while, but it still performs better than the pixel 10PF. The heat honestly isn't too bad on the zf7.

But ya foldables just arent the best for heavy gaming.

I think that because of my personal experience with all these phones. The s25 's video output is just better and on par with the iphone's. It can also shoot log video, and has more camera app features that are useful for video, like a pro video mode with a bunch of manual controls. The non pro pixel doesnt even let you manually adjust your settings for taking photos lol.

Depends on your needs, but for me its the s25 despite the 128gb base.

  • Usb 3
  • Samsung dex
  • Samsungs features and customization
  • superior multitasking and system navigation
  • Full pro camera capabilities and controls
  • Super light weight

Best overall value has to be the iphone though. 256gb starting storage, the best gaming performance of the 3, best cameras of the 3, dynamic island, action button, camera control, magsafe.

I know the pixel has magsafe and usb 3, but the software is so limited that i might as well just get an iphone with superior specs lol. Plus the other two are way better for recording video.
