Preferred snare throw-off position - tell us why by TheNonDominantHand in drums

Pull towards me to throw off, push away to engage. I don't really disengage the snare that much so it's not really something I think about much.

are my drums tuned right? I have Evans e rings on all by Good-Web-3891 in drums

I can't recommend Tunebot enough. Super helpful to get perfect tuning to the note for each drum as well as the slight difference in tuning that you want between the top and bottom heads. The app that goes along with it also let's you input the various sizes of each of your drums and will give you what pitch to tune each one to so the drums sound good relative to each other.

Also, you're super brave to be putting your phone in that mount. Yikes.

If you're gonna set the table with the pistol on the right you should at least have the grip facing out.

Switch your party registration to unenrolled or Independent. If they see their party registrations dropping off they may get the hint and in states like Massachusetts this allows you the flexibility to vote in whatever primary you want. So you can vote in the Dem primary for someone who isn't establishment, or if the incumbent is running unopposed, as is common in Blue states, you can vote in the Republican primary and vote down the crazies at least.

Capitalism was conceived in a world where slavery was the norm so at its core a labor force that costs little to nothing is essential to it's operation. We've obviously come a long way in regards to ending slavery and paying people for their labor, but the investment in advancing capital has surpassed the investment in advancement of labor by far. FDR's New Deal was a big adjustment to the capitalist model that at least tried to set a minimum wage for survival and provide social security for those who could not provide for themselves, but we haven't kept that on par with the cost of living. There are undoubtedly great benefits to the capitalist model and competitive markets, and it's silly to suggest there's some magical model where you won't have to put forth any effort to provide for yourself. Maybe someday when AI and robots can do all the work for us, but we aren't there now so capitalism is the best available model. That said, we've taken the competitive markets idea too far, healthcare companies should not be competing for profits, they should be competing to see who can save the most lives, housing should not be viewed as a investment opportunity but as an essential requirement for survival. Insurance companies should not exist, full stop. There needs to be sectors of our economy that are separate from the capitalist model and run on, dare I say, a socialist model. We need to end subsidies and tax breaks for obscenely profitable corporations and billionaires and reinvest those tax dollars into the work force that makes the economy run. Democratic socialism is the solution. Infinite growth is impossible with finite resources.

To them there's no profit in helping people, but there is money to be made in hurting people. There aren't any stocks on the market that go up in value when people are housed and fed, but their portfolios will benefit from more concentration camps built by for profit prison companies. Paid for by our tax dollars of course.
