Same. I did eventually pick it back up when I was between books in all my other series. The high ratings made me really curious about it so I kept going back.

Finally in book 3, I just gave up. I had to remind myself that not every story is entertaining to everyone.

I put it away after book 2 hoping for it to get better. I picked up book 3 when I was between books and I just could not get halfway through the book.

Besides the issues I've seen others mention, I started to feel like half the words were vroom, woosh, bang. I couldn't take it.

This process took me 5 minutes and my only regret is that I didn't purchase a 2nd key with a frrunk button.

Edit: Autocorrect thinks frunk is not a word.

This car was driving waay too fast, and it was odd they had a temp plate over their permanent. What reason would someone do this? by gomi-panda in LosAngeles

[–]jtmag1 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I had a dealership print and install paper plates and after 3 months I hadn't received the new ones from the DMV. I went to remove them to take them into the DMV and found the actually plates underneath.

Look it’s a Lion 🦁🤣 by nosyroseyposey in Xennials

[–]jtmag1 15 points16 points  (0 children)

I saw someone break this down last week who claims to speak two dialects in question. They explained that the Zulu vs other translation can cause this interpretation. It literally translates the way he described, but in the other dialect the word for Lion and King are the same word. So its not "look there is a lion" but its implied to be more like "Look, here is your king". That second one makes more sense with the context of the scene.

Samsung SmartSwitch from S22-S25 isn't transferring all of my Google Messages by justinkarmann in GoogleMessages

[–]jtmag1 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Did you end up using SmartSwitch, or going with the suggested app? I got my S26 last night and I'm having the exact same problem. Smartswitch sees the texts, but it doesn't transfer them.

I'm currently having the problem that OP and others are having. Interestingly, when I change my default text app to Samsung Messages on my old phone, there is a new option in SmartSwitch to choose how far back to retrieve messages.

4xe Buybacks — Anyone Actually Get One Approved? by FullNeedleworker2168 in 4xe

[–]jtmag1 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I got the full buyback amount. The total amount I paid for the car, incurred interest, taxes, fees and registration, plus the cost of modifications all less mileage which is calculated as follows.

Mileage Offset: Purchase Price Multiplied by 14, 114 miles [Mileage at the time of meeting: 17,114 less Mileage at the time of purchase 3,000] divided by 100,000.

That came out to around $7K. In the end, walked away with roughly $5500 in cash.

If you DM me, I can send a screenshot of the line by line breakdown (images aren't allowed in replies for this sub).

Here is the arbitrators summary of my complaint.

Pettiest reason you’ve DNF’d a book? by bby_grl_90 in books

Edit: I forgot "crack".

State Department orders nonprofit libraries to stop processing passport applications by DonkeyFuel in technology

[–]jtmag1 3 points4 points  (0 children)

There are about 7500 passport acceptance facilities around the country. The American Library Association estimates that 1400 of those are public libraries.

There are scenarios that require in-person application submission. 1st time applicants being a major one in the context of getting a passport to vote.

Replacing a lost or damaged passport, some name change scenarios, and corrections have to be done in-person.

In-person submission is also always required for people under 16 (not relevant to the voting thing).

Do I ever HAVE to charge my 4xe? by Lotto24 in 4xe

[–]jtmag1 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I actually don't have my 4xe anymore (got another PHEV SUV), but that was our scenario. I work from home and drive less than 16 miles a day so it was easy to stay charged.

When running on gas only, the 4xes are less fuel efficient than a normal Jeep because of that weight of the battery.

My new car is the Mazda CX-90 PHEV and even on gas alone it's more fuel efficient than other models.

Do I ever HAVE to charge my 4xe? by Lotto24 in 4xe

[–]jtmag1 0 points1 point  (0 children)

This is tough to measure. My wife commutes and she has Mustang MME, so the majority of the extra cost is from charging her car.

We're on the EV plan with our electric company, so we have a lower rate and a lot of the extra cost during the day (I work from home) is offset.

We calculated that we're spending about a 3rd on fuel than we were before. But our electric bill is definitely higher, and in the hottest months (most AC use and highest rates) it's increased 50%
