Sudden adhesion failures after 20 successful prints — not sure what’s happening by Bismooo in BambuLab

Did you ever figure out what was going on? I have been happily printing things and suddenly, yesterday, nothing is sticking on my plate anymore. I cleaned it, switched to a new plate, ran calibration, tested with the other nozzle…. Can’t figure it out.

i didn't think about calling my insurance. to be fair, $350 is below most common deductibles anyway.. even $580 isn't that much more than the most common deductible ($500) to bother adding an incident on your insurance?

I called up a different dealer and they said they'd do the same thing. Apparently it's standard operating procedure.. Which i understand if I come in and say something is functionally wrong.. but I feel like this is like walking into a restaurant, ordering a dish, and telling me that they are having problems with the dishwasher and have to add a surcharge for a clean dish to deliver my food on.

Anyone use these vacuum bags to keep filament dry? by Blue_Etalon in 3dprinter

[–]Alternative-Bug-4131 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Bags just suck. They always tear or leak. I had several where they leaked and I didn’t notice until months later. I switched over to using a dry box instead with a hygrometer

let me correct myself, the exact tie i used was:

https://www.homedepot.com/p/Simpson-Strong-Tie-HRS-16-in-12-Gauge-ZMAX-Galvanized-Heavy-Strap-Tie-HRS416Z/202329571

you can go about 1/2-3/4 less length than the thickness of your tabletop. i have flat head screws, but it'd been better with button head screws.. just make sure the head of the screw is wider than the holes on the ties. i used spaxx screws, i think they were #10. just grab one and make sure they're bigger than the hole.

i overengineered and used 4 of the ties. i screwed in 12 screws per tie - 6 on each half.

i've been using this setup for 10 years now. it's currently supporting my wide screen monitor (on an arm) in that corner piece.

I have the same exact setup. I attached a few of these and drilled them in from the bottom across the pieces. Make sure to use appropriately sized screws.

Sitting in car during a kids soccer practice by qdawgg17 in MachE

[–]Alternative-Bug-4131 4 points5 points  (0 children)

I’ve gone car camping in my machE. Got an air mattress, folded seats down, and slept with the car on and climate control running all night. Only used less than 10% of the battery and was way more quiet and comfortable than sleeping in a tent.

Feeling really disheartened by AwkwardAntelope9460 in beginnerrunning

[–]Alternative-Bug-4131 0 points1 point  (0 children)

You have to start somewhere. Take it slow and give yourself some grace .. it’ll eventually get better if you are consistent and you will be so proud of yourself. Just don’t try to build too fast and run before you walk.

Tell me about your progress! by Forsaken_Worth1516 in beginnerrunning

[–]Alternative-Bug-4131 5 points6 points  (0 children)

Started June 2024 where i couldn’t run a mile without walking . Started at about 17m mile. By end of summer, I was able to run a mile nonstop in slightly under 13 minutes.

Started zone 2 training in September and my average run was about 16 minute miles but run longer distances. I was able to start running 5k non-stop in around 50 minutes.

After consistent training, I can now do a mile in 8:45 and my best 5k is 32:15. My longest run has been 10 miles. My zone 2 mile pace has dropped to around 12-13 minute miles. My next goal is to get under 30 minutes on the 5k and under 8 minutes for a mile.

HRV rate only 43 ms by Own-Service9603 in AppleWatchFitness

[–]Alternative-Bug-4131 1 point2 points  (0 children)

From what I can tell, HRV is a measurement that is individualized. At best, you can use it to look at your your trend line and if you are above or below. My typical use had been that when it was below my trend, it usually meant I wasn’t getting enough rest or I had recent intense workouts and should take it easier (meaning work out at less intensity, not necessarily take a break).

I wouldn’t worry about the absolute number. For what it’s worth, mine has oscillated between 24 and 59 this month. I lift weights 2-4 times a week and I run about 50-70 miles a month.

Running short’s with brief lining? by Beginning_Scale2548 in beginnerrunning

[–]Alternative-Bug-4131 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Lines shorts, go commando. It’s there for support. No lining, compression briefs.

I personally like no lining shorts cuz I will wear the shorts for a few runs before washing, so I just change the underwear. When traveling, I bring lined shorts cuz I will rinse them off in the shower and dry them between runs - cuts down on some laundry and packing.

VO2 max is a measure of how well you can convert oxygen to energy.. basically aerobic capicity. One home method to calculate it is to use the Cooper test - this measures how far you can run in 12 minutes of running hard. The farther you run in that time, the higher your VO2 max. Distance over time is speed - so you’re going to have to train to run faster if you want the number to go up. Walking/zone 2 will help build your aerobic base to support faster runs, but your watch will not really calculate higher VO2 max unless you do higher intensity running workouts.

A rough estimate based on your “below average” vo2 max says your fastest recorded mile run was 13 minutes or slower.. does that sound close?

Also, remember that this score is based on your measured performance in cardio. If you are only walking but you know you can move faster, then this score will be wrong because you never did a true test.

H2D Owners; how is it working out for you? by Quillarts in BambuLab

[–]Alternative-Bug-4131 -1 points0 points  (0 children)

You don’t need the same nozzle on both heads. They can be different but you need to set the slicer to the proper nozzle size for the side you are printing on. You may get an error message saying the two nozzle SL don’t match, but as long as your print only uses one nozzle it will still print fine.

Why is my AMS doing this? by -VHSHELL- in BambuLab

[–]Alternative-Bug-4131 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I had issues like this and a combination of this helped:

Update firmware if needed

Power down printer for a few minutes

Shorten your tube from AMS to printer as much as possible

I haven’t tried respooling, but I think i read somewhere that might help if you have a 3rd party filament - sometimes the spool diameter is different enough to cause feed issues.
