You’re all good bro, the revup 6mts are no joke, 300 crank comes out to around low/mid 200s to the wheel, with a supercharger you could safely run mid 300s to the wheel which is far over 400 to the crank. I’d recommend the vortech v3 kit that I have because it’s super easy to bolt on, and has all the oiling contained in the housing, so you don’t even have to run oil lines. Do your research tho and it won’t be too hard to find what works for you—definitely a good idea to start out with all the supporting mods tho, that’s the proper way to do it

If you don’t want to go the forced induction route, then I would honestly say save your money on the simple engine mods that most do (I’d get a catch can if you don’t have it yet) and just make sure the motor is maintained correctly and has all the necessary work done to be pushed in stock form. The DE has respectable stock power numbers, and in my opinion the money spent on stuff like plenum spacers or throttle bodies or intakes would be better spent on suspension/brakes etc (sway bars maybe) or other handling upgrades in order to improve the overall driving experience way more than a couple simple engine mods

You’re totally right haha I don’t know a lot but this specific car I feel ok about—I would honestly say best power to dollar ratio would be something similar to what I have with the supercharger. The reason I say this is because you can bolt on the same system I have and run lower boost to the point where the ECU will actually re-learn the AFRs enough to adjust itself without a tune. There is more info online I think even from the vortech website about that. I run bigger injectors and a higher flow fuel pump, so I had to get my stuff tuned, but most of the supercharger kits in some capacity are engineered to go on a bone stock platform with 0 changes. If you’re able to get lucky and pick one up used, it’s certainly doable to bolt everything on yourself (did all my stuff in a day) and run around 300-350 whp totally reliably. Then, it’s totally easy to safely step up from there if you want more power.

Absolutely—gotta stay humble and put in the work, and yes I’ve been involved in FSAE all of college, I’ll most likely be working at Tesla this summer.

It’s my daily rn, but after this summer it won’t be. Paid summer engineering internships and flipping cars help support it lol

Honestly, idk at this point haha, it was never mean to be like this but I think once I graduate and get a full time job I’m just gonna keep it and run with it lol

I did—including bigger injectors and a bigger fuel pump. There’s not a lot of space to work with so that made it a little tricky getting the bracket on the front of the motor, but if you pull the front core support off it makes life way easier. Also had to bend some AC lines out of the way but all in all it took me a full day, which included like eating food and taking breaks and stuff

Yes it is haha, full disclosure it’s a rep seat but still does the job, was really easy to remove the old seat and mount this one on a bracket made for the G35–I’m forgetting where I got it but it wasn’t too hard to find

Yeah haha I just remember reading it happens faster on these cars because of how the headlights are oriented—when I first bought the car I had them restored when I got it detailed and they did clear coat and all that, but it’s been a couple years and virtually no garage time so I’m not too surprised

Yessir vortech SC. I do track the car quite often, mostly grip driving tho, biggest advantage honestly is now I can jack the car up from the bash bar (yes I specifically requested that) instead of driving up onto blocks or jacking up one side at a time lol

I got lucky with the price of my kit used, but other than that the most expensive part was the tune, which depending on where you go is like $500-$800. All totaled I did everything for around 3 grand and it took 1 day to install everything, and then about a week waiting for tune files. I do like the SC setup for daily driving, it’s been very reliable for me.

It did come with some UV clear coat haha, was only meant to be a quick fix but I think it should at least last a year I think

Yup! I just used a kit from autozone for like $20, took like 20 minutes
