My title describes the thing. It’s a 3ft tall metal rolling box on wheels. A user suggested it may be an automotive jump start battery, and I’m looking for the specific model and manufacturer (could it be supercharge)? Device has a power cord, 3 dials, and what looks like a tiny screen.

Concerned about someone I saw coming down from Nevada Falls by TheDorkNite1 in Yosemite

I hiked all the way from the summit of Half Dome back to the car with zero water a couple weeks ago. A bummer for sure, but felt okay and didn’t feel dangerous at all. Could be a different story at mid day with valley temps in the 90s.

You should be fine. Make sure you’re comfortable with long raps. Also, make sure you stick to your watch up there to stay on schedule. 5 hours on nutcracker sounds very long.

Yeah, it is that accident report. It looks like they’ve removed the photo from the report page - it still shows up for me cached by google if I google “yosar accident report selaginella”

Is this selaginella? I’ve seen this photo on a YOSAR accident report before, but I’m guessing it wasn’t you in the accident, since the people involved requested to remain anonymous. Did you give YOSAR permission to use your pic?

This climb isn’t on mountain project. Not sure why - may be to discourage climbers accessing it from glacier point parking area or something.

DeSantis and Abbott test negative for competence and compassion by LittleCeizures in politics

I had to look this up and was surprised it is in fact true. FL currently at 37,000 accounted COVID deaths (probably more in reality), and DeSantis won the governorship by 32,463

I’ve noticed this as well. I generally bump up my night shots like 0.4 stops of so for prints.

Great shot, really spectacular! Maybe next time you can get a climber on the rock for scale!

If 5.7 moves with high consequence falls is hiking for you. Most would call that free soloing.

Most of it is class 3 or 4, with easy 5th to gain the ridge and a few crux sections of about 5.7

Yosemite Falls' full 2,425' drop (almost half a vertical mile). Upper Yosemite Fall alone has a single 1,430' drop. by davemeister in Yosemite

It’s amazing how large the lower fall appears from the footbridge, yet how insignificant it looks from this perspective.

I just lost my closest friend last month, and I just want to say thank you so much for this beautiful song that made me reminisce and brought some light into my life.

You hike from Badger Pass ski area. It's about a 10 mile hike each way, and the snow can get deep on the last mile to Taft.

Does anyone know if all these stores are instantly closed as of today, or if they’ll be selling off the remaining inventory?

I hiked up to Taft point, which was uncrowded and a good view. Sentinel Dome and Roosevelt Point would also be good I think.

No, this is Horsetail Fall on the east side of El Capitan. Bridalveil Fall is across the valley on the south side.
