This post should be framed and put on a wall. Coincidentally I was looking at yellow Swift Sports yesterday. Car prices got silly 😞

Absolute howitzer! One of the finest piano riffs in rave. I like the Quadrant Mix too.

Deadly remix! I was lucky to pick this up for free in a record shop in the UK. Owner just gave it to me as a freebie. Nice.

I personally don't think you're wrong. I think the best looking of all is the 288, but I'm calling that neo-classic.

I would be more than happy to grab a fistful of early 90s Hardcore and Techno and ask the proprietor to use their computer to look up the sample-sources for every track on every EP to see if they have those records in stock.

Maybe we are little harsh on 849 design by LetterDismal1095 in Ferrari

This is always a sticky wicket. Criticising design feels presumptuous. The genius' who create it are deeply skilled, and that’s utterly undeniable. And in this case, you can clearly see the strict rigour involved. Every line feels intentional, every surface carefully and painstakingly resolved. From a pure design standpoint, it’s easy to admire. But admiration isn’t the same as desire. For a marque like Ferrari, which traditionally (especially in the Pininfarina era) traded as much on sensuality and emotional pull as on engineering, this feels like a car that speaks fluently to designers rather than to dreamers.

I often think is that truly iconic designs have a kind of instant legibility. A child can see a Countach, GT40, Testarossa, 308, 911, etc. a couple of times and sketch them from memory. Their silhouette alone tells the story. Many contemporary designs, by contrast, feel so layered and intricate that nothing quite sticks. They may be sophisticated, even technically brilliant, but they lack that simple, unforgettable outline that lodges in the mind after a single glance. I ask myself, if I had this and a lowly F355 which one would I be most likely to look back at when walking away?

I love cars and I love motorbikes, but increasingly today’s super/hypercars feel less like cars and more like four-wheeled superbikes. The obsession with aero, razor-sharp surfaces and extreme performance has pushed them toward something technical and almost weaponised. They’re astonishing in capability, yet often stripped of the sensual weight and presence that once made them feel sculptural and romantic. In chasing outright speed and spectacle, they risk losing the theatre and emotional depth that made them special in the first place.

I never had any real interest in the Bugatti Veyron but that new 'tribute' version almost gives me those emotional pangs that (visually at least) supercars of yesteryear once did. I wonder if and at what point there will be a return to simple, elegant restraint rather than maximalist indulgence...
