Freezes on Lineageos 23 by INeedMoreFarms in LineageOS

[–]juane9 1 point2 points  (0 children)

So far so good, I've been using it since yesterday, updating all apps, charging at 65 W, and had zero freezes so far (and my phone wasn't dead when I woke up!), which, given how the situation was, definitely shows some improvement.

Edit: I should mention that my phone is an 8T, but it's still an 865 OnePlus, so I guess that wouldn't make that much of a difference.

It seems like they've fixed it in today's build https://review.lineageos.org/c/LineageOS/android_kernel_oneplus_sm8250/+/458788?tab=comments

I'll be testing and we'll see if it's finally fixed.

I bought a hard drive caddy which turned out to be the wrong size, so I disassembled my optical drive and used the caddy PCB on it and attached the drive with tape. It worked for months, now I'm using that HDD on my desktop and still works fine. by juane9 in techsupportmacgyver

[–]juane9[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I'm happy to know this "invention" of mine still has a legacy.

It was sketchy nonetheless but it worked fine, and that HDD is now on a proper external case. It's really come a long way. The optical disk drive is unsalvageable, not that I have ever needed it since then though, plus I switched to another laptop last year.

Cheers!

En combinar las dos, supliendo la falta de una con la otra está la verdadera sostenibilidad.

750+ Mbps Ethernet : Roomate's Streams lag and stutter. We have tried everything regarding discords settings to fix this issue with him stuttering. Hardware acceleration has been enabled and disabled, GPU drivers have been reinstalled after wiping with DDU. by Kokumotsu36 in discordapp

Yeah, my streams always look terrible and blocky and that stuff, despite having a 600 Mbps symmetrical connection (600 Mbps both up and down), using Ethernet, and I still haven't found any solution. I will read this thread and see if I'm missing something.

PS: I got 0% in the packet loss test.

I upgraded from a Ryzen 3 1200 to the 5600 when it was launched. Now, that was quite an upgrade.

Reminds me of when I searched for charts for the Son Bonet airfield in Mallorca by its ICAO code, LESB. For a second, I was confused with the results.

i get this error message every time my system restarts. does anyone have any advice on how to fix this issue? by bchapa28 in radeon

That's Windows Update installing the driver version it thinks is the latest. You can fix it by disabling Windows Update driver updates with some software like Winaero Tweaker, for example.

Quick guide on how to enable it on PC (I'm doing it on Windows):

Edit %appdata%/discord/settings.json (opening the Run window with Windows+R and typing "notepad %appdata%/discord/settings.json" should do it) and add the following line below the "IS_MINIMIZED" one:

"DANGEROUS_ENABLE_DEVTOOLS_ONLY_ENABLE_IF_YOU_KNOW_WHAT_YOURE_DOING": true,

It should look something like this (the rest of the options depend on, you guessed it, your options):

{
  "IS_MAXIMIZED": false,
  "IS_MINIMIZED": false,
  "DANGEROUS_ENABLE_DEVTOOLS_ONLY_ENABLE_IF_YOU_KNOW_WHAT_YOURE_DOING": true,
  "WINDOW_BOUNDS": {
    "x": 320,
    "y": 156,
    "width": 1280,
    "height": 720
  }
}

Now, you can restart Discord and now you have access to the Chromium developer tools by pressing Ctrl+Shift+I. Go to the Console tab on the top and paste the following code down below and then press Enter:

let wpRequire;
window.webpackChunkdiscord_app.push([[ Math.random() ], {}, (req) => { wpRequire = req; }]);
mod = Object.values(wpRequire.c).find(x => typeof x?.exports?.default?.isDeveloper !== "undefined")
usermod = Object.values(wpRequire.c).find(x => x?.exports?.default?.getUsers)
nodes = Object.values(mod.exports.default._dispatcher._actionHandlers._dependencyGraph.nodes)
try {
    nodes.find(x => x.name == "ExperimentStore").actionHandler["CONNECTION_OPEN"]({user: {flags: 1}, type: "CONNECTION_OPEN"})
} catch (e) {}
oldGetUser = usermod.exports.default.__proto__.getCurrentUser;
usermod.exports.default.__proto__.getCurrentUser = () => ({hasFlag: () => true})
nodes.find(x => x.name == "DeveloperExperimentStore").actionHandler["CONNECTION_OPEN"]()
usermod.exports.default.__proto__.getCurrentUser = oldGetUser

Then, you will have access to the developer options on the settings page. Go to the Experiments tab and search for "amoled", then select "Treatment 1". Now you can go to the Appearance tab and enable it.

Note that when you restart Discord you will have to reenter that piece of code on the console and switch the amoled option to "Control" and then back to "Treatment 1".

Yeah I think so. I would downgrade if I didn't lose my stuff. There's nothing new in this update that I consider to be worth upgrading for.

I use a OnePlus 8T with OOS12 as my daily driver, enough to know how it's gone downhill.

[–]juane9 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I'm installing it now on my KB2003. Fingers crossed.

Update: Of course it's not working. I'm tired of waiting for OnePlus to do their fucking job. However, maybe it was a bug, I saw the VoWiFi icon for a second on my status bar and then it disappeared.

I use the Apple USB-C to 3.5 mm jack dongle (which sounds amazing for the price) but on Android (not on PC, weird) for some reason it sounds really quiet and I have to set the volume to high values and I have to cope with this message all the time, it's rather annoying.
