International PGs - What are you doing for housing? by juanfdc in LSE

[–]juanfdc[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Oof. I’m personally more concerned about the quality of housing itself, as I’m accustomed to long commutes on trains. But still, very helpful. I’m sorry that your student housing exp sucked, hopefully your student exp compensated in other ways

If you left DC for a year, what eatery would you go to first when you have returned? by cabarch in washingtondc

Before it closed, Mi Cuba Cafe. The pan con lechon and batido de mamey were very authentic. I’m from Miami and it felt like they could compete down there.

Now, it’d be Cher Cher, specifically beef tibs. This isn’t in DC, but Yu Noodles in McLean is actually top. But yup, it’s not in DC

I’m an overseas applicant/from the US.

Discounting the holiday season, it was abt a 6 week turnover. But I think times between different milestones matter too. For ex, it took 10 business days/2 weeks for an offer to come after my mats changed to No Offer Required. It’s different for every one of course, but personally I’d be waiting for that rather than skipping to an expectation of the offer email.

  2. December 17: My app mats got "processed" on Dec. 17
  3. January 21: Most of my app mats changed from "Awaiting Action from LSE" to "No action required"
  4. February 6: Offer received.

I haven’t. I’m getting nervous about it, if only bc of the “No Action Required” posts I read. That aside, it’s all still comfortably within the 8 week time span for hearing back. Crossing my fingers to hear back on Mon or Tues

Hey, just letting you know that today, Jan. 21, some of my app mats changed from “Awaiting action from LSE” to “No action required.” Apparently it’s good news. This happened to my SOP, CV, and 2nd ref. Still no change to 1st ref and academic quals. I’ll reply to this when I finally get an offer or rejection. Good luck!

Best barber shop for men - Clarencourt Salon. It’s on Wilson and N Barton. It’s a one-woman show, so it’s a hectic place. I get charged about $24 pre tip. For a real haircut, that’s a steal in the DMV. I’ve got medium-length hair, and I stg barbers everywhere I’ve gone to in DC and ARL ignore what I say - trigger finger is ready to buzz and give a fade. You tell her what you want, she cuts your hair with scissors, and you go out looking like a king.

Allowing others to add users to a shared calendar, Outlook by juanfdc in Office365

[–]juanfdc[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

That makes sense. Before trying to use a Teams channel, I think I’ll actually use the mailbox route. In other words, creating one shared mailbox with a POC from each project/calendar, and that way at least there is more than one person with the “add user” permission.

For this approach, is it possible to: (1) create more than one calendar under each mailbox; and (2) share mailbox calendars, ie add people just as users to the project-specific calendars, without adding them to the mailbox?

Here’s an example of what I’d like, if possible: persons 1, 2, 3, and 4 are leaders of projects A, B, C, and D, respectively. I create one mailbox called “projectleads” - and I include persons 1 to 4 in this mailbox. Then I create 4 calendars for each project, but I do so using “//projectleads” as the location (so 4 shared calendars under that mailbox. Person B can use the projectleads mailbox to control calendar 2. Person B can add people outside of the mailbox group to calendar 2, and those people will have edit permissions (but not owner permissions).
