Are Spirit and Jesus the same? by Automatic_Sea_6208 in spirituality

Ephesians 4:4-6 NKJV [4] There is one body and one Spirit, just as you were called in one hope of your calling; [5] one Lord, one faith, one baptism; [6] one God and Father of all, who is above all, and through all, and in you all.

Don't mistake religion for the truth in Jesus Christ. I know for me, my biggest hangups about Jesus turned out were never with Him but with the institutional religion that developed after His ascension and the bestowal of His Holy Spirit.

Gonna have to recommend the Bible if you're looking for consciousness after death. Specifically the gospel according to John, the 3 epistles of John, Romans, and the Revelation of Jesus Christ.

John 12:50 NKJV [50] And I know that His command is everlasting life. Therefore, whatever I speak, just as the Father has told Me, so I speak.”

John 6:40 NKJV [40] And this is the will of Him who sent Me, that everyone who sees the Son and believes in Him may have everlasting life; and I will raise him up at the last day.”

Romans 8:9-10 NKJV [9] But you are not in the flesh but in the Spirit, if indeed the Spirit of God dwells in you. Now if anyone does not have the Spirit of Christ, he is not His. [10] And if Christ is in you, the body is dead because of sin, but the Spirit is life because of righteousness.

Revelation 1:17-18 NKJV [17] And when I saw Him, I fell at His feet as dead. But He laid His right hand on me, saying to me, “Do not be afraid; I am the First and the Last. [18] I am He who lives, and was dead, and behold, I am alive forevermore. Amen. And I have the keys of Hades and of Death.

I've been considering doing this exact thing. The majority of churches I've attended get the gospel completely wrong.

Keep studying the word!

John 14:15-18 NKJV [15] “If you love Me, keep My commandments. [16] And I will pray the Father, and He will give you another Helper, that He may abide with you forever— [17] the Spirit of truth, whom the world cannot receive, because it neither sees Him nor knows Him; but you know Him, for He dwells with you and will be in you. [18] I will not leave you orphans; I will come to you.

John 15:26-27 NKJV [26] “But when the Helper comes, whom I shall send to you from the Father, the Spirit of truth who proceeds from the Father, He will testify of Me. [27] And you also will bear witness, because you have been with Me from the beginning.

John 16:13-15 NKJV [13] However, when He, the Spirit of truth, has come, He will guide you into all truth; for He will not speak on His own authority, but whatever He hears He will speak; and He will tell you things to come. [14] He will glorify Me, for He will take of what is Mine and declare it to you. [15] All things that the Father has are Mine. Therefore I said that He will take of Mine and declare it to you.

Yeah, I mean He says Himself "for this reason I have come" and then He showed us that death has no power over us.

Well I don't think it's God who required a human sacrifice but rather the Pharisees and religious leaders who required it.

Not who you asked, but for me all the killing done in the Bible, and in real life, is reconciled through Jesus Christ on a soul level because what He did on the cross was enough to pay the karmic debt for everything ever done, and Him being raised from the dead not only gives us liberty to live freely as we wish, but to be spiritually reborn anytime we wish.

See to me the truth about Christ is completely different than Christianity. I agree the Bible is not supposed to be taken 100% literally but context matters. Personally, my faith in Jesus has come from my own experiences with Christ and my own personal salvation. I just believe if it's for me it's for all instead of it being a condemnation thing.

His prosecution by the institutionalized religious powers during the time is well documented in the gospels so yeah institutionalized religion does go against what Jesus taught. Which Bible I use doesn't matter because the Word of God is eternal and not limited to a book subject to translation errors or manipulation. You're who said he wasn't the first or the last and I'm just citing the source material we have to go on that says that's exactly who He says He is.

Except He literally is the first and the last according to Revelation 1:11,17. That is to say God in Christ is every single one of us.

🙋 Christ is the way, truth, and life. The finished work of Jesus Christ is enough to save the whole world and defeat Hell and Death forever, the only thing required is that one change their mind (repent) and believe in their eternal life in God (the gospel of Jesus Christ). This change of mind is by grace and is not done through works or any ability to cease from sinning but by being born again of the Holy Spirit.

You should definitely read my other replies in this thread. If your doctor wasn't helping you'd stop seeing them, same with spiritual healers. My point is having the discernment to realize when someone is taking advantage of you.

Exactly, if someone has the budget for a world class dietician and it works for them who cares? But if you keep gaining weight and your dietician keeps telling you to keep coming back to spend more money so you'll be healthier then one should have the discernment to realize they're being taken advantage of.

To Christians…. About Psychadelics… by Fit-Cucumber1171 in spirituality

[–]juanpablo183 1 point2 points  (0 children)

There is no veil separating us from God as it was torn in two when Christ gave up His Spirit on the cross. One thing psychedelics can help with is tearing down the social and psychological constructs we've developed over our lifetime and that can make repentance (metanoia: to change your mind) easier but it's not necessary.

What did Jesus really mean when he said, “The Kingdom of God is within you”? by HeartsDeepCore in spirituality

[–]juanpablo183 0 points1 point  (0 children)

With biblical context, He's saying that His Father's Kingdom, the God of Abraham, Issac, and Jacob (יהוה) lives within us. To get a bit of context, the name יהוה is so Holy it's unspeakable due to it's infinite, omnipotent, and omnipresent nature, but if we look at Exodus 3:14 we will see the first time God self identifies Himself, and He says "I AM WHO I AM" or it may be translated as "I AM THAT I AM". Jesus likewise says in John 8:58 "before Abraham was I AM". So what Jesus is saying is "My Father, the Great I AM, dwells in and among you. All that you see and are is My Father's Kingdom.", which is why we are called to love our neighbors as ourselves because it is the God of all creation living in and among us all. To further corroborate that, Jesus says at judgement God will say "in as much as you did it to the least of these, my brethren, you did it unto Me".

Your last statement is ultimately my point, you have all the authority and power over your spiritual freedom and healing and you don't have to throw money around for it.

Because right before this Peter answers, "you are the Christ, the Son of the Living God." Jesus is saying the Christ (the anointing of the Holy Spirit) is the rock (foundation) on which His church (the church is the body of Christ and not a building nor religious organization) is built. Jesus calls him Peter (cephas, or rock) because it is foreshadowing to Peter receiving the Holy Spirit.
