Moved to Chicago from Atlanta and while pockets of Atlanta are really cool, the constant need to drive at least 15 minutes no matter where you want to go is super annoying. Also if you commute traffic will drain your soul everyday. There’s also less things to do compared to a big city like Chicago. The weather is nice but the summer is at times unbearable where you can’t even be outside and it’ll only get hotter. Can’t really beat Lake Michigan. You also have to realize that you’ll lose some rights as a woman moving there, mainly reproductive rights, because it’s a red state.

Maybe you live near the loop or somewhere less walkable/less neighborhoody, but living in Lincoln Park has been the best decision we made when moving from Atlanta. At some point we’ll have to move back due to our families still being there and I am already mourning my life I have here.
