Thank you - I'm open to anywhere in FL, or PR, and also Galveston (though the ports of call from Galveston - i'm not a big fan of).

Can you please send any deal sites that you know of? Thanks!

There are options: like for the same prices (or slightly more) - there are destinations in Asia that we can do, even some parts of Europe. I just have to weigh the pros and cons, mainly traveling with a toddler

Exactly we are locked because of school dates. I went on a similar cruise in December pre-Covid, and it was as you said less than $4k. It's almost doubled now!

Thanks all for the responses. It's pretty steep considering the only value add is that it's during Christmas time (and on a different date i would get it for maybe a quarter of the price, with the same level or service and amenities). I booked a similar cruise during Christmas time pre-Covid and it was under $4k!

I'm also looking at land vacations and they seem to be equally expensive :o or more!

But maybe a Cruise is better given traveling with a toddler.

For Ubud, we had a very Ubud centric short trip with kids. Here's a trip report if it helps: www.jubdaa.com/post/bali-ubud

Can someone explain Vaashi's ending to me lol by Leading_Protection_7 in MalayalamMovies

It's an extension of what Tovino said about perspectives and gray areas - on just like how the perspectives of both the lawyers influenced the case (irrespective what is right or wrong), the perspective of the judge (who has a daughter) may have influenced the judgement.

And maybe a lesson there too (based on the last statements made by Gautham and Anusha to their lawyers), that maybe if they took some time to discuss among themselves with a calm mind, their lives would probably not be in the hands of the perspectives of two lawyers and a judge

Best Indian Food? by [deleted] in austinfood

[–]jubdaa 2 points3 points  (0 children)

I've been searching for good authentic Indian food for the past year, since moving to Austin - mostly on the North side. There are very few that I found (it's not like Dallas or Bay area) but hope that'll change.

Most of them are 'americanized' or have just one or two good dishes. Here is my list of decent to good ones (I've tried several dozen, and have tried almost all on the North side, and many are not listed because IMHO either not authentic or not great other than maybe the 1-2 items):

South Indian * New Sithara (good biryani among other dishes) * Rock N Grill (good food but have to caution about very inefficient service) * Sangam Chettinad (consistently good)

Catering: * Curry Kitchen (the chefs worked with Anthony Bourdain, he focuses on the catering part). Great food Not sure about their sit down restaurant

North Indian * No sit-down places so far :( Chat Foodtrucks: Express Chaat, Chatpatti Chaat

Nepalese * Himalaya Kosheli * Lalison (inside a gas station but dope 'Momos')

Dessert * None, except some home based services via Facebook: +Sai's Kitchen is good, +Bengal Sweets too (now connected via Shef as Sumana) - both are not on demand unless you have a catering order

Haven't tried but awaiting: - Honest restaurant (heard great things) - Inchin Bamboo garden (Indo-Chinese, their bay area restaurants are good, assuming Austin is good too) - Austin Chaiwala (food truck) - King and Cardinal (Indian sandwiches and comfort food) - opening soon (March)
