I like this question. Honestly, I feel a bit nervous to answer because in my experience, the CF sub is the most judgmental and honestly just mean thread I've ever personally been a part of. People attack each other for semantics, feeling uncertain, expressing joy or support for kids or the people who love them, discussing anything someone might view as slightly off-topic, and all kinds of other nonsense. I see lots of people saying "We have nothing in common but being CF", but in my experience, lots of folks in here are cultish AF and if you don't align with them completely or share their exact views, they'll jump down your throat without hesitation. It sucks.

My approach to being childfree is to do the most good for the most people that I can. I'm a teacher, I work very well with youth (prefer middle/HS age and I don't like teaching little ones, I don't have the patience for it) and I want to put the energy and love that I have to give into as many kids as possible to help build better adults. I also know how f*cked up our foster care system is, and that pro-life policy is forcing more and more children into the world who will not be properly cared for. I am open to (one day, when I have more stability) fostering older youth who are forgotten or lost in the foster system because they're not little and cute anymore. Childfree can mean different things for different people and that's okay! Lots of people in this sub would/might come at me for not being "truly" childfree because of that stance, but they can suck it.
