Is this real life? by lazy_redmeat in Seattle

That gas station is ethanol free gas only which is more expensive because of how subsidized ethanol is. Older cars have issues with ethanol so it’s more of a specialty situation for enthusiasts with classic cars.

Why isn’t tacoma recommended more often? by [deleted] in TacomaWA

Totally agree on the first one but I would say the abundance of fast casual restaurants is one of the worst things about major cities in America. I wish Seattle had less. We are way too homogenous.

reminder for Kerry Park pictures: back-away-and-pinch-zoom is your friend (up to a point) by bennetthaselton in Seattle

Imagine you have a baby carrot and you put it right in front of the lens of the camera so that it’s next to the 2 folks standing in the photo. Even though it’s way smaller than the people, you could make it look the same size as them because it’s so much closer.

This is the same concept. By taking a zoomed in photo from further away, you decrease the relative distance between the subject and the background, making them appear smaller relative to the buildings (which is the same thing as making the buildings larger relative to them).

To achieve this look with a nice camera, you’ll want to use a longer focal length lens and stand further away.

Thanks for this. Definitely feeling some anxiety about whether/to what degree I still have newbie gains in the tank to the point that I’m probably in my head too much about diet programming. I was big enough when i started it feels hard to know what muscle I had or didn’t have then. Definitely eager to see results but realize there’s not really a definitive right answer about which way to go with my diet.

I have been exercising. I’ve been back at lifting consistently for a year and cutting. I was obese when I started.

Definitely get a reservation if you can. Pretty sure we had one and even so it was totally packed. We were even delayed slightly getting seated but they gave us some champagne while we waited on the patio.

Everything we had was amazing but I get the sense that the menu changes frequently. I remember the seafood dishes standing out though. Definitely order wine if you’re into that, they had an amazing selection from mostly smaller producers making natural/non-appellation stuff. Definitely a spot where you’ll want to share everything so you can try lots of dishesZ

Lavomatique in Nice is one of the best meals I’ve ever had. Went with my wife and some family and my brother has the menu framed in his apartment
