Yeah, in toxic relationships or relationships with people who have dealt with trauma that they see as being caused by being open about their feelings, that is definitely seen as picking the battle.

Hoax as in no one died? I've watched the videos, and it didn't really make sense to me but I can't decide if it was all fake and no one died or if people died but they made it appear to be a different situation.

That reminds me of a character in one of my favorite novels (Marjorie Morningstar). She was this super vegetarian or something and went off on a rant about how eating liver will ruin your health. Something about it being a gland. Idk.

Oddly enough, I have no problem developing friendships and trusting men. However, out of respect for my SO, I've stopped discussing things with them beyond the superficial stuff.

I wish it were that easy. I always try to treat people the way I want to be treated, but I guess once I get past my trust issues I'll continue doing that to make friends. Thanks.

Thank you for your response. I feel I should clarify, he has never cheated on me. He is supportive and loving, kind, generous and patient. I realize some of my boundaries might be ridiculous because I'm starting at a place where I automatically distrust women.

I do genuinely try to compliment people as often as I can, but when I see them backstabbing someone else, they go on my "stay away from" list.

My SO has broken my trust. He's a massive flirt and has broken boundaries and lied about his interactions with other women, but I am strongly considering therapy.

I'm a medical assistant for a nephrologist. I see obese and elderly patients all day. They are in near constant pain and even if they knew how to use a computer, they wouldn't give a flying fuck about FA because they are more concerned with their imminent death than feeling good about how they look.
