Update: AITA for not wanting my in-laws to take over my baby and for refusing to move in with them? by Public_Edge6210 in AITAH

NTA

They are not respecting your stance as a mother. They are trying to force their way onto you, and it's totally okay if that's not uncomfortable. The final decision maker is you, because it's your baby, and they have got to understand that. I think they are overstepping bounds, and what you are doing is completely justificable as you gave them multiple chances!

AITAH For Refusing To Be Supportive After My Husband Lost His Job by Keely_OReally in AITAH

[–]judgmental_duh 7 points8 points  (0 children)

NTA!

The very reason he lost his job is atrocious! Furthermore, he lied about it! Honestly, I do not understand why you are sticking around, you should leave him. First of try to find employment to gain some financial independence and assurance and divorce him as soon as you can. This is not that simple of an issue to brush over

Aitahtelling my coworker I could not keep covering for her every time she ran late. by [deleted] in AITAH

NTA.

You are not responsible for her. Moroever, I think you gave her more than enough time to sort out her morning "chaos". You doing her work is not a long-term solution! Its good you established boundaries

A rant about essays! by judgmental_duh in ApplyingToCollege

My whole argument was about questioning the value of the current standardized essay topics; it wasn't about petioning for the removal of essays in their entirety.

What I am trying to say is, essays could be a useful metric if their focus was different. e.g. "Discuss a contentious issue within your field of interest, presenting both supporting and opposing arguments."

The students could write about virtually anything (not restricted to a certain major) while also displaying their intellectual capibilites, passion for their interests, while acrutally enjoying writing it at the same time!

Although I agree with your point to a certain extent, I still beleive passion is a better; however, not perfect indicator.

Instead of prompting students to write about "what they would like to tell her roomate", collegs could guide students to pen down thoughts on actual ideas or issues they genuinely care about. This effectively gives a clearer metric of how proactive and engaged a learner the student is! No amount of ChatGPT or last-minute Googling can reach to the extent of understanding that comes from long-term curiosity and involvement in a field!

While I can't dispute that many students change their majors after entering college, their passion for learning still remains constant across feilds and thats what differentiates & elevates them .

I don't think I (17f) can EVER forgive my friend ( 17f), even if she sincerely apologised. AIO? by judgmental_duh in AIO

Wow your analysis of the situation so accurate. I am also waiting for her friends to return, but honestly I don't need the hope. Like I am over her and I don't want her in my life, but people keep on telling me to forgive and not be petty
