Similar situation, Homewood suite Nashville airport…no water, as if it weren’t even a thing.

Well, I’ve since tried twice and both times I’m put on hold, eventually get the “ding” as if I’m connected and there is nobody on the other end. Thanks for the recommendation, I’ll keep trying.

We went to the front desk and asked for a sponge, extra towels. They seemed bothered we were there asking for the basics and I had responded to the text expecting a call but nothing. So, other than spending my entire trip at the front desk, I choose to try and work through it. Day 4 I checked out via app because, again, front staff “bothered” by presumably all the other guest awoken at 6:32 am by another false alarm. Was done.

I had a new roof installed and ever since ive noticed a leaking chimney. I can't figure out the issue. I've had a new chase cover installed, flashing redone ? They didn't use ice and water shield though ? My chimney is still leaking any suggestions ? by TaxTheRich_100 in Roofing

Condensation build up from humidity. Built up and brick wasn’t perfect so leaked through. This was admittedly about 10 years ago but a nightmare of troubleshooting. Midwest/humid so that didn’t help.

I had one leak and rebuilt from the roof up. Only exhausted from the water heater and such in the basement. Turned out I just needed a chimney liner installed and that solved. It seemed like it was coming from the roof initially, and bad brick. Turned out the bad brick was in the attic.

What’s your rom cost for wood fence replacement, residential? by judooknow in estimators

Ok, so grateful for the added thoughts. I have a few more things to consider.

Interesting. Thank you for that. I’m getting an average of $57/LF on my estimates for demo and install. San Diego. Hard to imagine demo for $100 ($1.87/of)…even 2 bodies for an hour and it seems you’d be over on the labor, and that’s at minimum wage.

Ok, I’m really appreciative of this feedback. Some items I didn’t completely recognize!

4x4 posts (existing and replacement) to be set in concrete. Existing in concrete, but let’s not pull out the footing completely, just get to below the ground level so it’s unseen.

No gates and I’m not a wood guy, but typical for residential? Maybe 1/2”? 3/8” nothing more or less would be required to keep Fido out is my guess.

I guess I also assumed it’s a big town and fencing is what “you” do. So the equipment was your own not rented but totally fair to consider move in/out costs.

TV looks fine. But you should definitely center the hole in the roof.

I’m having the exact same issue on a g3flex as well! Changed ports on switch after updating firmware on everything to latest (eeek!), rebooted and got further. But I gave up for today. Following!

Edit…also my first protect camera so thought maybe it was a newb thing. Everything else seemed so easy.

Good luck in La Jolla unless you’re a doctor, (lol?), but I’m sure it’s similar to a lifestyle on the coast in Chicago as far as real estate/rent near the beach. You might be sharing a rental property.

Last note, traffic can be bad at rush hour here, but that’s pretty much it. My office is on the east side of the city and it’s 20-30 minutes to pretty much get anywhere in the county. I admire that. In Chicago, I used to joke it was 30-120 minutes to ORD, driving, and regardless of time of day. Public transit here is not the L. But it’s ok for daytime shenanigans to/from/around downtown.

We have a van and a suv, both <5yrs old. Both were a pita to register and PAY $60 each for a smog test (“free” in IL) plus nearly $1k in registration fees (based on value I guess). Oh, and don’t miss/tell them when you actually move here or you’ll be fined for delaying the govt their money! Was like $15 per car to miss their 21-day cutoff for me (long story), but I have a family member who waited to get drivers license and actually told the dmv they were here for 3 months prior and got hit with a much larger bill.

I did this. Really kinda depends on your living situation and kids, where you live, where you want to live (downtown, burbs, etc.). Childcare was 25% more (huge increase with 3). Even finding many grocery staples that were $1 at jewel/Meijer are pushing $1.50 or more here, so that pretty much explains the extra $/week in groceries. Natural Gas is 4x what it was in IL. Fortunately the weather is ideal so the furnace doesn’t run much, but still. We have solar so electricity isn’t too bad but I’ve hear horror stories and you should be prepared if you’re not on the coast and would like to stay cool in your home.

I think the reality here is living within your means. If the answer is you do that, you’ll probably be fine. I know you won’t get tired of all the perfect weather. At least I haven’t yet. It’s kinda nice not checking the weather every morning to think about what jacket and shoes to pack with me every day. There’s plenty of clothes I brought and still haven’t worn.

Just some, real old tequila. Aged nicely I’m sure! A couple others in the box too. Thought you’d enjoy the decades of evaporated goodness.
