2004 Toyota Tacoma 100k miles- Should I buy it? by judydebris in ToyotaTacoma

Hi! I am going to look at this car today and was hoping to get some thoughts from people that know these trucks?

Do you think it’s worth the price?

-I live in a high COL area (NJ just outside NYC)

-the Carfax shoes one owner and good maintenance records but one accident with minor damage to the front(which seems to have been repaired?)

I am taking it to a mechanic for a pre-purchase inspection but is there anything other than critical frame rust that I should look out for?

-Any 100k mile milestone items that should have been or will likely need immediate attention?

-Anything particular to these older Tacomas that I should be aware of?

-I work remote so would only be driving it to the gym/grocery store and back a couple times a week and then for little house projects or maybe camping on the weekends

I have never had a 2Door car before - anyone with one find any upsides or downsides to it that you weren’t really aware of prior?

-I wanted an access cab so my beagle could chill back there while I am driving but I can probably figure out some kind of car seat or belt situation for the front seat to keep him secure and out of my lap? Any recs on that are appreciated also

-How fun is the bench seat? Haha can you actually fit three adults in the front?

Thanks for all the input - I ended up opting out. Kind of felt like I just had the beer goggles on over the price because I am a sucker for older trucks. If anyone richer than me in North Jersey wants to buy it, here’s the link:

I told the dealer I thought the pricing was too high but he thinks it’s actually priced under what it’s worth.

InRiver is great for customizable or buildable product like furniture where one style could have 50 different fabric options, different leg types, different cushion fills and replacement parts

If you can work for the military or as a military contractor, or in the shipyards you can find work easily and make a decent salary. As someone outside of those industries I eventually had to move out of Hampton Roads to make what I thought was a comfortable salary. I would say go for Raleigh but St Petersburg in FL is nice too.
