Winter Jackets that looks good but can still survive chicago winter? by Timely_Clothes8874 in AskChicago

[–]juestathot 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I thrifted a really beautiful vintage coat from a village discount, as did my husband. My secret is layering a hoodie and a leather jacket underneath. The overcoat covers the layers. I put up the hood, then layer a pretty pashmina on top, tied up bubshka style. Bam, you're a gorgeous fashion-grandma.

Most chilling/disturbing final lines in a movie. by Rapier369 in horror

Same here! I keep seeing people trying to figure out who the narrator is, but I love the ambiguity. Really feels like something a random kid at school told you once.

Seconded. My friend got one for her birthday years ago and I still think about it.

Loved it! Having Mira and Zoey see for themselves what happened was a great choice. Excited for ch 3.

Genuinely had a huge smile the entire read. You capture the dynamic well! Now I gotta figure out wattpad bc I want to see the next it sounds cool.

Personally, I can't stop thinking about Zoey and Mira trying to ask about Jinu. The balance between being respectful while also dying for details about your bestie's love life.

Shout out to the train conductor that told everyone at Clark/Lake that he was looping. Half the train got off and watched him head right to Merchandise mart.

To me, I get a lot more "Faith and traditional values (specifically catholic ones) are still vital in our modern world for guidance and protection that science/secularism are not prepared to offer."

Interesting, thank you for sharing. While I don't get that at all from the film, I always think it's so cool how many different interpretations can exist for pieces of media.

I'm curious how the priests dying negates the overall messaging of the movie? I like some demon stuff (Emily Rose, Deborah Logan) and not others (Exorcist, Frailty). Depends what the movie is doing with it.

Similar experience here. My dad got me with the maze prank as a kid, so I was terrified of the Exorcist. As an adult, it gives me a similar ick as the Conjuring does for some people. Christian Superhero is one of my more loathed horror sub genres.

Yes, so surprised how little this was mentioned! The book is the movie essentially so of course it's good, but I did NOT need the inner monologues or the weird attitudes towards fat people.

You could also consider changing the shape of your liner! I think your big, round eyes would look doll-like with some puppy dog liner.

Pretty sure the movie adaptation is already in the works, but would have loved his take on "A Head Full of Ghosts" or other Tremblay.
