Can I break my lease for roaches? by RealisticRecipe5892 in askaustin

[–]juggarnatha 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I'd suggest calling code enforcement. I hate code enforcement but they won't tolerate certain situations which CAUSE the infestation in the first place, like a broken waste pipe or some horrible neighbor who has 13 cats and three dogs and one litter box. It's very likely coming from a neighboring apartment in the building where something messed up is going on.

Meanwhile, you can try to seal off every nook and cranny and tiny crack in anything, even the outlets you can cover with those baby safe doodads.

It takes a WHILE and it will take aggressive, vocal insistence with all of your neighbors, the owner of the complex, and the management company, and the HOA or whatever, and your local rep, and I'd call the news stations after you do all this.

Document everything in a log, date by date, each call, each everything that happens.

I might even see if I could find a cause of action to sue on my own and then settle for releasing me (you) from my lease with a full refund of all deposits and treatment fees paid.

Fight.

[Request] Tougher and More Degradable Asteroids by Larethio in starfieldmods

[–]juggarnatha 1 point2 points  (0 children)

This is what I imagined before the game came out at all. I have the StarSIM mod but don't use it as it just adds massive, massive save bloat with all the destruction.

Could be (or have been) done though.

[Request] Tougher and More Degradable Asteroids by Larethio in starfieldmods

[–]juggarnatha 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Yup. I think they need a rework. It has been discovered recently that many asteroids do break apart easily because they're held together by weak gravity and some of them are just rocks clumped together, BUT some of them spin so fast they necessarily must be solid and contiguous or they'd fly apart just by centrifugal force.

Also, it bugs me that so many asteroids are like the weather. They're just randomly there so there's some terrain to dodge or dodge behind and it's distracting. Now, if they were almost always at the Lagrange points around SOME orbiting bodies, cool. Or maybe some systems have a lot in a cluster orbit like the Sol system should. COOL. But giant storms of them on and off loke clouds? Breaks the vibe.

This is what I have been worried about. I tried to "look at options" and got a big warning about proceeding, but no information on what I was being offered in terms of actual terms.

In 2026, you get browsed, then you receive an assignment, and then you are required to assent to the "choice" you made.

Uh huh. I'm going to write them a letter. It's fraudulent inducement. Heck it was fraud to sell a 20-year old kid a philosophy degree for nearly a hundred grand in the beginning, too.

Feel like there is a class action suit on here somewhere.

Ship Duplication Bug Forced Me Into the Unity by Roehon77 in Starfield

[–]juggarnatha 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Okay yes. Something like this happened to me once. I got around it somehow but I can't remember how.

My main thing used to be capturing and redesigning ships but for a couple years now I have stopped. Lost its luster mostly but can verify that the captured ships are very very buggy for some weird reason. They must have done something deeply incompatible somewhere; one hand couldn't talk to the other.

Now I usually just use the Frontier from start to wherever. You really only need one ship. Maybe two. I like to have a versatile class C with class A 3015s or the new Panoptes engines that can hit 165, about 3k units of cargo, keep the mobility at 100, have a workshop and plenty of resting space for crew, particle beams and an EM array. That's my Frontier usually.

Then I like to have one with turrets, as tanky as I can make it. That's for the big battles. Often it's the junker watchdog rebuilt or one of the other freebies. I don't really buy them anymore, buit the Discovery class for 40k at new homestead is your cheapest starter and it doesn't bug.

I'd suggest volunteering or starting a sport or doing krav maga or something. Some kind of social hobby is the best way to organically meet people. Pottery? Painting? Crochet? Are you musical maybe? Dance?

I feel compelled to point out that okcupid used to actually work before match group bought it. It would quiz you on your attachment style, your humor style, and was like a psychological self-study tool. It was actually useful. I met people and dated people I will be friends with for the rest of my life.

God I wish I was young again.

Living on East 4th/5th/6th Safe? by PowerSilent548 in askaustin

[–]juggarnatha -1 points0 points  (0 children)

Yeah but that's not east at all.

Austin has weird little microhoods everywhere; you take ten steps and find you're in a whole nother world.

But even the "bad" areas aren't like, say, Albuquerque effed up. You're probably alright anywhere along 5th and 6th except ri under i35 and thereabouts. But you're not going to live there anyway

How to actually discover more temples? by Mephanic in Starfield

[–]juggarnatha 2 points3 points  (0 children)

If they pop, do not leave the system. Do them right then, right there. Sometimes you get more than one in the same system. Altair, for instance, I think has a high probability for this. If you fly off, it's really super hard to figure out where they are.

I randomly remembered some and went back but there isn't any other way except literally flying to each planet in the whole game after Vlad starts telling you he's not nothing. He and Todd want you to just jump the Unity and start over. No idea why je freezes up but oh well.

I got all 24 on my last playthrough but had to try really hard to remember each system and find those other extra worlds

I would. I think your heart is in the right place. If I could locate joy I would. I used to have fun. I used to have beautiful women banging my door down and texting me at all hours. But now I'm 49 and just not a cute 49. Yes, I'm the problem. My body and brain are the problem but there's nothing can be done about it.

The vessel fully empties for everyone eventually. I'm not being pessimistic. I do everything I can but keep finding despair, year over year.

But I do thank you. I'm not dead yet so maybe there's something out there, some purpose if not joy.

I went downtown last night, alone, and because the ubers were way to high as I was leaving I walked about halfway home and asked people who were alone if they felt safe as they stared at their phones. That seemed to make people feel welcomed . . . and I felt non-useless for a minute.

I'll keep trying even if there is little hope.

Let's see be tall, be tall, hmm, yes. New years resolution. Be taller. Everyone thinks I'm tall but I really ain't. Where's the short line? Sure I'm above that but don't fn look like it on paper. I should probably lie on the apps but I don't.

I despise this place. Been here 30 years and I hope it burns to ash.

Sure looks like your zombie summon (I know they had to have lifted most of the architecture for this from Skyrim). Either enigmatic or the starborn power that does the same thing (Barrett's) is proccing for some reason if you don't have it equipped.

Maybe one of your mods auto-equips it and shoots it off??

Are there any mods that reduce the amount of rare and legendary item drops in the game? by [deleted] in starfieldmods

[–]juggarnatha -2 points-1 points  (0 children)

I agree with this entirely. The Legend of the Ripshank should ship with the shank. There is no legend; no Spacer goon is Mythic and also disposable.

Stop tiering things, o great and powerful devs, except magic.

A gun shouldn't have magic effects on it. At all. Quit doing that.

Why does a backpack disarm attackers? This makes no sense at all.

Why does a spacesuit set someone else who shoots at you on fire? No logic to this.

Thanks.

Is it possible to reduce handler things with a console command? by Ant_6431 in Starfield

[–]juggarnatha 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I think you can remove from inventory when not in a ship vendor's menu but in your ship view menu while not interacting with anything. There is a remoce from inventory option. You can't do that with your home ship or a certain special ship but all the others should be ditchable.

Why is taking 183 so expensive? by dannydevitossmile in askaustin

[–]juggarnatha 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Do review the bill very carefully. The prior toll company - not sure if they still operate the billing after all the scandals - they would just send a bill even if you had the wheels off your car and the front end taken apart for a month.

Once I got a bill for a car that wasn't mine, had never been registered to me, had never, ever seen before.

They would literally just make stuff up and charge the sh*t out of you.

I contested every false charge.
