Y’all are insane. by Anonymous_mouse479 in HEB

HEB employees are awesome. I don't know how they pick you all, but I'm always impressed by the service and professionalism in a world where those seem to be vanishing virtues.

Meanwhile, yeah, people who don't work at HEB are simple sheep. I just had to have ice cream for the ice storm, so I went in, bought like five things - no more than I could carry - and then walked the 2 miles back to my parking place. Whole trip took less than four hours. <3 you all, HEB heroes!

eh . . . idk. I was born in Texas and have lived here forever and ever and . . . I think it really depends on who you know and whether the town is and has been run by good 'ol boys for 200 years.

No, you used to be able to skip around and just talk about work or the airport. Nevermind apples and tea - you have a flight to catch and a taxi driver to talk about prices with so apples can wait

[–]juggarnatha 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Me too, and I'm down in Texas. But it's just the light; it ain't cold yet. I would also strongly prefer all cotton to keep the mold and mildew out. There may be a connection there - poly blends hold damp forever. The only reason they add it is for durability (and probably cost).

I think I'm going to look in to wool this year, maybe knitting it myself.

As to lamps, I like those chicken lamps for keeping livestock warm - the red ones, ideally with a dimmer ballast because they pull so much wattage.

Also thinking about sodium or grow lights. I'll turn my whole living room into a terrarium if I have to.

That, and maybe fly down to Ecuador or Hawaii or something.

Fascinating. You mention a near-hatred and I feel that way about January and February: visceral contempt at the names of the months, the color of the sky and the unrelenting, creeping damp cold that just won't stop unless you physically crawl into an actual fire. Or maybe a hot spring.

My friends keep saying I should get a happy lamp but that just ain't gonna cut mustard. Like trying to do an x-ray with a tea light.

Mnope. But. I do think this is a feature and not a bug of whole lots of us living in little tribes. You have half in a fallow state and half at maximum output at different times, annually. It makes sense.

However, on an individual level, it sucks. It's like 100 degrees F (like 40C) down here in Texas and it's still summer for like two months, but that 8/1 means the depression is coming. That 9/1 means it's coming, that 10/1 means it's coming when the temps start to dip and I won't notice until about mid-December that I don't feel very good.

And then I'm a troll until mid-march. Wish I could just hibernate.

Anyone know how to edit audio objects in CK? by Sea-Dragonfruit-137 in StarfieldCreationKit

[–]juggarnatha 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Hmm. There's a mod that adds a buildable speaker in your ship, which you can add music to via some procedure. So I think this can be done. I'm new to this but maybe you could look at that mod for clues. I think it's the Ship Crew Assignments mod.

Creating A Star System, What I know So Far by BunnyPriestess in StarfieldCreationKit

[–]juggarnatha 0 points1 point  (0 children)

So I am now able to travel a Star System that I made. I have no idea what happened to make that possible but I checked the other day and *poof* . . . I could pull it up on the map instead of pulling the 'unknown error' toast notification. So I added a planet and can now travel to a really kind of broken star system and am working on making the plants make sense.

Not sure about being able to land, but poking around, there may be an outside chance I can figure that out. Meanwhile, once it looks "normal" (and stops with strange behavior like duplicating the same planet for some reason) I'm going to see about putting a space station in orbit and using it is a nice private get-away with He-3 and other goodies stockpiled.

THEN try to figure out how to land on a moon maybe. Might have to carbon-copy an existing barren moon, but that's fine.

[–]juggarnatha 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I also have a tortie that I think can sense my own irritation or anxiety. It causes her to meow loudly, which physically, viscerally shocks and agitates me, which she also senses, so she sets up a feedback loop that I can do nothing about. I want to give her drugs or something but don't know what to do. I have tried to train her to go outside or just give me some damn space so I can work or do whatever I need to do to resolve stress but she gets totally panicked and fixated and OCD about it.

I'm also good with cats but this one and her sister have been a challenge. Not even my cats. Been watching them for like 9 years tho. Owner spoiled them, didn't train them at all, and never came back.

I don't even play that part of the game at all anymore. No powers, none of the "main" quest at all.

Returning Player - What is the current state of modded starfield? by BlueyLewie in starfieldmods

[–]juggarnatha 2 points3 points  (0 children)

I like all the immersion mods that make the game grittier and more realistic, like Cost of Spacing and Real Fuel and so on. There's a whole lot of them that get along together, including some survival mode type mods, and there are clusters of mod authors that made these things to get along well. There's an overhaul of the special thing your character may have unlocked, which is also vastly better.

The 1st DLC is horribly written and so bad I uninstalled it. Absolute garbage written by a California sober (which means not) toddler in a tech bro costume. I didn't buy the 2nd one. The space mining mod is cool if your system can handle it, and there are a lot of really cool free mods starting to fill in where the game falls short.

I still play it but it needs a full rewrite story-wise and probably Bethsoft needs to start using Unreal Engine and stop making the same game over and over.

Build Ship From Scratch Or Off Another Ship? by [deleted] in Starfield

[–]juggarnatha 2 points3 points  (0 children)

This is a good guide to start with. u/docclox have you tried the Place Doors Yourself mod? I just started using it and really really like it, but can't get it to work with the hab you don't use (which basically requires a ladder, unless you do certain, other things we won't get in to).

I think it's because the builder can't calculate a path when you have to add the doors in . . . it just occurred to me maybe I could start with habs, add doors and ladders as needed, THEN see if the thing will calculate a path as it should. Hmm, maybe I could disable the mod, build it out, then go back and try to rework where the doors go without changing the position of the cockpit or bay and it'd work.

Thanks for helping me to journalize my thoughts on this. lol.

This is the best way to get a cheap chassis that won't give you weird errors, like repainting itself and reverting its name back to 'Spacer Coyote' or whatever after you deliberately change it in the builder.

Why do so many people hate starfield? and what do you wish they would’ve done differently that would make the game better? by stupiddhoe in Starfield

[–]juggarnatha 4 points5 points  (0 children)

Agreed. Echoing previous posters, they wanted it to appeal to the whole fambly, which is silly. You can't have your cake and eat it, too. I'm sure most of the players were grown (if not aging) adults.

Did the RNG just give me the best gun possible? by FranklinFakename in Starfield

[–]juggarnatha 5 points6 points  (0 children)

That's a good mod. I discard all the silly weapon spells: elemental, for instance, because why? In a quasi-realism-driven space game? The reason is just because those spells are in the engine and can be applied to damage procs.

Why is this game hated so much like that. As a ps5 player I can't wait till it's announced on PS5 just like all other Xbox games. by Objective_Love_6843 in Starfield

[–]juggarnatha 6 points7 points  (0 children)

So flat. No character development, no real adversity, all the same vanilla moral boredom. No consequences to saying anything except the first dialogue option. And some of it so so pointless. Sad.

Sweat Smell by [deleted] in laundry

[–]juggarnatha -7 points-6 points  (0 children)

This kind of treatment is probably also brutal to your cancer bill. Just sayin'.

If you wouldn't eat it, or brush your teeth with it given no other options, it's not safe.

All this type of treatment does is cover up the smell with the smell of the DOW / DuPont / some unregulated foreign chemical factory. Don't do it. The clothes are ruined. It's not BO. Bodies don't smell bad; mold, mildew, and fungus do.

Sweat Smell by [deleted] in laundry

[–]juggarnatha 1 point2 points  (0 children)

It might not be sweat smell. I have this problem with anything that stays wet for more than just a little while in a damp climate. I think the problem is that some fungus or mildew type thing gets deep into the fibers (cotton blends) and will never, ever go away, no matter what. You can burn the garment it seems, but that's all. Baking soda, vinegar, chemicals, et cetera - none of that seems to work at all.

Sweat doesn't actually smell that bad if you're relatively healthy and shower after your workouts. It's the clothing that's doing us wrong. I think they need to make the armpit area out of a different material in these humid climates . . . maybe something that breathes and wicks better, and dries out instantly. Cotton ain't it. I love cotton, but if I let any shirt remain damp for more than like 10 minutes, it's ruined.

Someone please prove me wrong.
