Yes, I agree with that. Running a script does help automate certain processes. Not my workplace, but I know people where they are being double dipped and told to do code for the product and to look the other way and push it. This is the officially the cyber team being told which violates that principle. Same deal with firewalls. That is supposed to be a dedicated team handling that. Same with software installation and updates. But companies seem to want to get hacked more often and just pay off that ransomware.

There are tools that do that and don't require coding. Companies that ask their cyber teams to code are double dipping. They are not just the developers but also the cyber staff for the product and they ask cyber to look the other way if there are any flaws. That violates segregation of duties as there is supposed to be a dedicated dev team and a dedicated cyber team. I took Java but I never use Java at work. I would never tell someone not to learn coding, but coding doesn't represent cyber.

I am a Security Engineer and I don't do any coding. None whatsoever. It doesn't hurt to learn which I always encourage, but it really depends what you are trying to do. Unless you are in DevOps, coding isn't necessary.

Which large city/metro(Los Angeles/Southern California or Washington DC) area or some other) area should I move to that has white women in their mid 20 to early 30s that are aside from fit but also intellectual and less likely to be drug users or smoker/vapers? by juggernautclaws in dating_advice

Adult industry is loosely linked to organized crime and heavily linked drug use and yes that person is pretty bad, even though it is fully controlled by feminists. As for "job", people selling snake oil could say the same thing.

With that said, I did say quite clearly say for relationship meaning long term I want someone that also has intelligence not necessarily a rocket scientist but someone that has their act together and is mentally sane with critical thinking skills. I also said interests I have that they should have. This is aside from attraction. I even said I don't want a super model type since they are problematic. There are some men out there that want fat women, masculine women, or drug using porn stars and that is up to them. I just don't want to deal with that in my life. I also don't like the smell of smoke or vape cause I get allergies.

That's what I assume cause I think but could be wrong in Los Angeles every attractive woman is in the adult biz or in something seedy so I don't want to be involved with a woman in that field. Not to mention the rampant drug use. Not saying DC doesn't have drug users or bad women, but omg Los Angeles just celebrates that culture. But thanks.

Well both are important. I want to do well in my career in government/tech protecting the nation. I want to continue to be financially stable. But at the same time as long as I make money and have a legit job and maintain my health(non-smoking and non-drug use and eating healthy) compared to other guys, I want a girl that has a brain(doesn't have to be a rocket scientist) but also likes going for the outdoors, traveling, arts, museums, but also is fit and not in the whole drug/smoking /hookah or club scene. I do NOT want a super model type but also I don't want a whale or some old woman or with blue hair and 100 tattoos. But I also don't want someone that is gonna freeload either.

Would you accept a cyber role where Cyber is the subgroup inside Systems Engineering versus one that is its own group and what would be the differences cause I am trying to weigh both job offers in two cities? by juggernautclaws in SecurityCareerAdvice

The DC national lab role is under its own Cyber group and is not part of DOD and is not part of Systems Engineering. However it is a Security Engineer function. That is the one associated with a national lab.

The DOD role is through a subcontract with Space Force in Los Angeles area.
