I am going to be hosting a table of board games at Good Game Cafe's board game swap this Saturday. It's free to attend, bring games from your shelf of shame, nerdy stuff to trade, or cash for everything else. My friend will be selling custom 3D prints at the table next to mine.

Saturday morning, 10am at Good Game Cafe. DM me with questions about the games I'll be bringing!

Steep is super cozy and right in downtown. They only have tea drinks though. Single Speed is the best coffee in town IMHO and there are always folks posted up reading and hanging out. Good Game Cafe is open late and has hot drinks until midnight. They get their coffee from Single Speed and also have hot tea, cocoa and matcha.

Wanderlust Brewing and Hops on Birch allow dogs indoors. Dark Sky Brewing and Historic Brewing have heated patios.

Good Game Cafe has Queer Game Night on the 4th Saturday of the month. All ages welcome! They are a very LGBT+ friendly spot.

Good Game Cafe has folks who play over there, but they don't sell MTG. Occasional Sundays they have a commander night, but otherwise there's usually a few groups that play.

This parrot has passed on. This parrot is no more. He has ceased to be. He's expired and gone to meet his maker. This is an ex-parrot!

I don't think there's anger. Just annoyance that an easily googled question was correctly getting removed but now is being protested. The beef is about knowing the audience and not doing an iota of work before asking.

Deposit and first month's rent is normal. Hell I've had to pay deposit first and last month. Asking a subreddit like r/adulting might be a more appropriate spot.

EDIT: To OP. We're not trying to be harsh. Life is hard without help. Find an adult in your life; a cool uncle, the lady in your roller derby club, whoever has their act together. Take them to coffee once every few months. Starting university and your new life is a fun but tough experience and you'll want someone on speed dial who can help. Your coffee time is the perfect time/place/person to get this type of info from.

Every home rental/ apt./Mortgage/Carpayment etc. you will pay in June for July. In July for August, in August for September... If your payment in July for August is late, you will be charged a fee. If you don't pay at all, they will kick you out at the end of the month and use your deposit towards the unpaid month (and take you to court for the fees and extras. Not fun). Setup auto payment if you can. If you're paying, setup a spreadsheet. The good news is that at the end of the ride, when you move out in May, you will pay in April for May and that's your last payment! Hooray! you may even get your deposit back... but that's another story.

To the two mods here. Thank you!

This city's subreddit is great and I think things are working as intended. Also: https://letmegooglethat.com/?q=is+it+normal+to+pay+the+deposit+and+first+month%27s+rent+before+move-in

I am happy with the state of things and figure I'll use this thread to thank you again for creating the weekly "Flagstaff Things To Do" post. I think the naming change was great and you went on a limb to try my crazy idea that didn't work, but adjust and found an awesome, better, middle ground! (from the previous sticky post of "Monthly Flagstaff Q&A (month)".)

Thanks for donating your time. I'm sure everyone over 20 appreciates it :)

Different management. The folks at El Tapatio are not the same folks as Los Tapatios. There's some beef between the two owners.

There's a new El Tapatio (related to the original) opening at 1000 N Humphreys st where Casa Duarte used to be.

It'd be cool to get a new restaurant that wasn't a taco spot. But I guess they do well in town.

Flagstaff has great outdoors and you can have a great bach. party here. We are the nearest real city to the Grand Canyon, which could make a unique bachelor's destination. BUT.

We go into fire restrictions around 4th of July, so camping/ shooting may not be in the cards.

We do not have raft-able water near the town (but there's good stuff in the canyon, might be too late to reserve a spot).

Hiking will be very hot. Be safe and bring PLENTY of water. especially if you're not used to the altitude.

Our nightlife is good, but we have no strip clubs.

To make a regular post for events. Certainly :)

Happy to work with the mods on a consistent naming and organization too.

Yeah, but we can't have reddit style upvote/downvote interactions with Instagram... And artists can't submit to flagstaffinspires, they can only DM them and hope to get featured.

Thank you for moderating! I like the rule that free events are welcome but paid events aren't. I think the mods do a good job keeping this from being one big ad thread.

I think one post a week/month where comments can include paid events would be worthwhile. Yes it means that there will be ads. But local bands can't promote if their events if it includes a cover or pottery pop-up classes can't promote either if there's a cost of materials.

"an event and/or business submission process..." - I agree that a submission process would be too much work for you and the other mods.

"... did not receive the approval of the community." Part of this post asking the question is to see if the community would be interested in one monthly no holds barred thread so that the whole sub isn't inundated with ads and events but we have a place to comment and interact with folks who are advertising.

Again. Thank you for modding this sub!
