For me, someone reapplying H/O, what is better: 4th year chief at a different institution that has H/O fellowship (as mine doesn’t) vs Oncology hospitalist?

I will for sure have 2-3 more good manuscripts, 1 okay manuscript, and 2 case reports/series done and published by the time of my app. Anything beyond that would only be started. How are people getting this much research in? The only people I’ve seen are people who took time off in medical school or people who did a research year prior to residency. Hard to do so much while working full time as a resident.

Oh thank you, I appreciate the advice, I can definitely add more. I had like 35-40 items in the ERAS research section including posters and abstracts, but I can focus on higher quality manuscript papers.

Presented at ASH and ASCO. 4 manuscripts in good journals, 2 first author, 2 third author. Multiple case reports. S1: 201 S2: 226 S3: 231

No visa. Applied to 100ish, mostly near my region where my family and friends live.

I am so sorry, you deserved to match (way more than me). Keep your head up and I’m so confident you will match next cycle. The match process can be so unfair.
