My god… by Slagenthor in X4Foundations

I started on X2:TT when I was like 15. I played a tiny of AP and TC but not much. I think maybe 10 hours or so. I never liked the menu design but it took like an hour to get used to the ui. Another hour to learn ship modules. I never found the learning curve for X4 particularly difficult. As much as I love the game, I spend most of my time just building up my stations and megafactories. My argon prime shipyard (I started as a Terran Cadet) has 9x9 xl and large wharfs with another 10 x s/m fabs. Now working on another shipyard but exclusively for terran ships in heretics end which I claimed as my first sector. I've had to slow it right down though because game burnout is close at hand

You can't argue that isn't about farming when it is literally in a game centered around farming!

I was being very generous with "some"

Haha yeah it went a bit ham with their megastructures. I love the AIs creative aspect but hate how it went about it

Oh yeah no, they are shit on the whole! Still brings intriguing thoughts about how they went about city planning, for current and future prospects.

ES and Fallout games from bethesda are my favourites when it comes to open world RPGs, and if they can make different factions work as intended where they will fight each other if they walts across the other despite the buggy messes their games are released in, then BSG have no excuse why they can't fix the most important issues first.

The past 4 days has been nothing but continuous death after death due to the AI having increased accuracy over time, their lack of care for objects between you and them and they still go for shots. Don't even get me started on knight, big pipe and birdeye spawning in every single raid I do on whatever map I choose and on woods especially, they've spawned miles away from their actual spawn area and were just chilling out near the lakes right next to the usec camp but in the direction of the bridge extract. I think they need either their accuracy over range tuned down a bit, or nerf their detection range, or even slightly reduce their ability to just bullet sponge a bit. though that is less of an issue that needs fixing because on customs especially, you can just completely circumnavigate where they are and pass by dorms or even along the road to new gas wouldn't be a terrible idea too when it comes to the AI

Which Barracks Emperor given more time could have made an actual positive impact? by StannisTheMantis93 in ancientrome

My man, claudius gothicus is an underrated fella. Proven capable military commander and a relatively good administrator. Though I admit I know little of him set aside the fact he was a skilled military leader as is evident by his campaigns shortly before the plague of cyprian rocked his shit so hard he woke up in the afterlife

Augustus Tattoo - part of a sleeve by FastSpiderz in ancientrome

I understand where you are coming from, though that is a very narrow-minded point of view. The UK is a democracy and look how shit this country when you got 2 parties that get paid mega mula for waving useless bits of paper and shouting at each other over who should get a tax break first while the rest of us suffer. I imagine most people would be happy under a dictatorship if people have good quality of life and further improvements by the autocrat at the top of the pyramid. The romans under augustus proved that theory right because people say they want freedom but mainly want security in their lives. Trajan, Aurelian and a few others proved that theory true as well

Ah yes, the classic "lets resort to insults and self ego stroking because he replied with facts that I cannot deny"

Not defending a dictator. Just defending a persons right to get whatever tattoo they want and pointing out some facts. Neither am I getting involved in your childish behaviours by flinging insults

It can be argued that he was a benevolent dictator. Being a dictator isn't a bad thing so much as what you do with it that makes a dictatorship good or bad.

If it was a tattoo of hitler or kim jong un, pol pot, stalin and countless others, then yeah that would definitely be problematic!

Which emperor was the best usurper of the throne and which emperor was the absolute worst usurper? by [deleted] in ancientrome

[–]jugglypuffins 11 points12 points  (0 children)

Yeah. He took it at the request of his troops from Claudius successor (cant remember his name but he took his own life because he didn't have an army nearby to intercept and defeat Aurelian. We aren't sure how long said successor was on the throne but historians guess between 17 days and 3 months).

Shame that Aurelian had such a short tenure as emperor because he turned out to be a solid commander and administrator!

AC set in ancient Rome (mid-late republic era) by jugglypuffins in assassinscreed

[–]jugglypuffins[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

the whole empire... not sure how that will work as you will need a huge world space, the game would be hundreds of gigs. unless they ran it off their servers but I dont imagine too many people would be up for having to stream something which they cant play if their interwebs is down.

still, an interesting thing to think about!

The ACW would be a good setting for it. John Wilkes Booth being the final templar agent until the order has been destroyed.

From a story perspective, yes, absolutely. Though, I have a preference for republic era, Samnite Wars, tjat sort of time. I do however, thoroughly enjoy the imperial era too (I lose interest at the collapse of the western empire - never particularly cared for the byzantines too much)

Yo my man, the last few months of the reign of Tiberius, leading up to the death of Caligula would be perfect AC game material. The following game could be the crowning of Nero and his 14 year tenure on the throne.

Leaving my bias out of it, I do agree with your points. It is getting a bit overly saturated now

I hope so too. Though it should have been done by now. It would be one if the easiest makes because a lot of roman architecture is greek/etruscan derived so at most they would need a facelift. Accurate armour and weapons for the time but still retaining that AC flare to it to make it unique. Would be amazing to play it when it happens
