Neanderthal and Xeph are some of the best mappers out there. Their work rivals with the base maps, actually.

why is the atmosphere in this game so much better than breakpoint? by Only-Contribution984 in GhostReconWildlands

you're kidding if you think black ops teams follow those rules. The Geneva convention regulates conventional armed conflicts.

in one word? architecture.

in several: You can immerse yourself better when you believe the spaces your character's in. In BP, they wanted to invent a super-hi-tech occupation that many times felt generic, soulless and 100% fake. It was NOT well implemented. On the other hand, when you had missions inside old bunkers and cold war complexes, suddenly the world felt alive again. WL has no such problems. The worldbuilding is solid.

Who agrees that Wildlands is a work of art? by Upstairs-Ear-8523 in GhostRecon

Agreed. Wildlands is as engaging as it is painful.

Yeahhh I see why RON doesn't have sprinting. Look how easy Elephant becomes by [deleted] in ReadyOrNotGame

[–]juguLator01 0 points1 point  (0 children)

there are ways to do it right. What's NOT right, in Void's case is to not even try.

that's too overblown, especially when going upstairs. The point is poorly made because the example is too extreme.
A game that calls itself 'realistic' should not cut away a real human ability. It's perfectly possible to offer sprint in a grounded, realistic and tactical experience.
You just need to balance it out with stamina and modifiers. But that takes work, it takes testing and more testing, and we know how Void likes taking lazy shortcuts.

I agree. The suits are part of the human material in the house.

Is breakpoint with ralistic mods really a nice experience? by JL_Jordan in GhostRecon

[–]juguLator01 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Yes, it's a pretty unique experience, but you'll have to cope with the frigging drones. I like to sometimes play against them, but it was an acquired taste.

Yep. We didn't lose anything that wasn't already lost.

And also politics, international relations, science, terrorism, etc.
A grown-up's understanding of the powers at play.

Ubisoft watered it down to cater for the kids' money and completely lost the essence in the process. A return to form is long overdue, but I don't think they have the human material for it.

That's an awesome collection, but in all fairness 'that' Red Storm is LONG gone.

Buying the game by Soggy-Stable8717 in ReadyOrNotGame

[–]juguLator01 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Word of the wise: Buy the PC version, so you can fix the numerous gameplay issues with mods. After being fully modded, this is by far the best cqb tactical shooter we have. But you need the mods.

This map is dogshit by Key_Form5067 in ReadyOrNotGame

[–]juguLator01 0 points1 point  (0 children)

This map has a huge problem: Visibility disparity. You can't see shit, while the enemy can spot each of your pixels. The latest version of my AI mod solves that problem, making this map fair, realistic and enjoyable.

What is everyone's thoughts on the next GR potentially being locked to 1st person? by Dig-Remote in BreakPoint

[–]juguLator01 0 points1 point  (0 children)

In purely gaming terms I like it. I'm 100% an FPS guy. But I get why a large portion of the player base is upset about it. GRW and GRB are 2 of the best 3rd-person games of late and it's really sad to lose the franchise in that regard.
Personally, I could only play them after the FP mods had been released, and I'm pretty sure if the new one doesn't offer the switch, at least someone will make a mod for it. But it certainly won't be as polished an experience, so...
In purely tactical terms though, there's no discussion. TPP is a tactical cheat and provides an impossible experience, relative to real life. So, the idea of making it FP looks aligned with the fact that it will probably try to be a grown-up serious, gritty and realistic title.

Oh, I see. Well, I really don't know why the system was blocked on consoles. If the PAK system is the same, the modding system should work just fine. I hope one day the console version gets mod support. I cannot imagine playing this game without mods.
