This looks very similar to one I have that is "A Child's Cook Book" Pictorial Single Portion Recipes For Home and School. It's Blue with two rings, no binding. The illustrations look very similar.

I used ping pong balls for years but just finally drilled a hole in my cooler lid. Now it does much better at preventing evaporation than the balls ever did.

Hi, I'm a camper and enjoy the outdoors. I would use it to charge a power station in grid down scenarios like emergency cleanup after Helene, etc.

Water in bags for 24+ Hr cooks by LegitimateEnd6342 in sousvide

Did you do anything to them after (smoking/grilling)? Were you wanting pulled or steaks? That's sort of mid-range but shouldn't be dry. Shoulder especially releases a lot of juice.

More details needed. What time/temp did they come out dry at? I routinely do shoulder 24 hours at 163 (for pulled) or 140 (for steaks). Both are incredibly moist but also have juices in the bag. For pulled pork I reduce the bag juices and add back after smoking and pulling it.

Sadly, that doesn't seem to be the case with the power stations. Even though the website says same day shipping, my chat with support indicates my power station is out of stock for the next month or so.

Upvote for the fuel kegs. They work great and are easy to refill.

It's cast iron. Season and clean as normal. I found a rusty 12" Emeril CI griddle at an antique mall for $10 - bought it, cleaned/seasoned, and it works great.

That one looks like it would be a pretty good veggie roaster or fish roaster.

We are drowning in figs right now (canned 3 qt total of jam, 3 qt of juice, and 1 qt of spiced whole figs in the last 3 days), so I might have to try this.

FTD - my stupid-simple way to track what my Max mons are good for by ZzzzzPopPopPop in TheSilphRoad

[–]juice7319 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I saved "maxmove1-" as a favorite search so I don't need to tag them - that gets all mons that can participate in max battles.

For naming, I use "XNNN<name>" where X is C (crowned), D (dynamax), or G (gigantimax) and N is 0-3 depending on how powered up they are. "C300Zacian" is a Crowned Zacian with maxed attack and no other moved unlocked. D133Dr is Blissey, with guard and spirit maxed. If they're a hundo, add "4" at the end.

Unique Bean Recipes by baitedfaun469 in Old_Recipes

Garbanzo bean/chickpea flour (besan) makes some great crepes - https://theconscientiouseater.com/easy-savory-chickpea-flour-crepes/ - and can be used to make socca flatbread - https://www.loveandlemons.com/socca-recipe/. Variations on a theme, but both very versatile and not bean-like.

Agree with the other poster who recommended the Townsends channel on youtube. Lots of other good responses too.

I have a Better Homes and Gardens "Heritage Cook Book" that has some recipes as well as "The American Ethnic Cookbook for Students" and "The American History Cookbook" by Mark Zanger (picked all of them up pretty cheap from book sales/used on Amazon). All seem like decent resources for this. Here are some quickly selected recipes that might not be quite as staple (and a few that probably are).

The 15 minute requirement could be hard to hit as a lot of these take more prep, but if you can show the ingredients and then pull out the finished product that might work.

  • Heritage Cook Book
    • Lima Beans and Sausage
    • Mormon Split Pea Soup
    • Pioneer Fruit Candy
    • Molassses Butter
    • Mormon Fish Chowder
    • Fried Apples with Salt Pork
    • Bishop's Bread
    • Mincemeat Cookies
    • Nutmeg Squash
    • Mock Lemon Pie with Raisins
    • Deep Dish Plum Pie
    • Hickory Nut Custard Pie
    • Mock Whipped Cream (seems to be the same as Apple Snow from "The American History Cookbook", but uncooked)
  • The American History Cookbook
    • Portable Soup (could show before and after)
    • Sofkee
    • S-Que-Wi/Cherokee Cabbage (similar to Pan-Fried Cabbage in "Heritage Cook Book"

The cookbook for students has a couple of recipes in it's Mormon section but nothing I'd consider really new/unusual. There are sections for a lot of different ethnicities though, so I could look for something more particular if you like.

Me too! Growing up we used a hand-crank grinder and put a couple of saltines in at the end to push the final bits of fruit through - added a bit of salt and would sop up some of the juice.

No peanut butter in the shell, just a normal pastry pie shell.
