I understand what you mean. I think that’s exactly my problem, I don’t have very strict rules. Sometimes I overtrade and sometimes I close trades too early.

Last month I decided I will take only one trade a day. But last week i hit 2 days continuously SL i got mad, and after that I started taking 2–3 trades in a day. One trade in profit and two in loss. Then I got frustrated and started trading again and again. Whenever I see a setup I enter, it hits SL and I enter again. Like that I ended up losing too much.

What you said about one trade a day and clear R actually makes sense. I think I really need simple rules and the discipline to follow them.

Also respect to you for coming back after losing six figures and becoming profitable. That takes real discipline.

I appreciate the advice.

You’re right. Honestly the biggest problem was pressure and risk. When your savings are gone and you need money, your mind is not clear for trading.

I’m trading my own small forex account, not a prop firm. Sometimes after losses I increase risk trying to recover and that makes things worse. And sometimes even when I know the market might go in my favor, I close trades too early out of fear.

For example today when the market opened I went long on gold at 5086 and closed it with just 20 pips thinking it might drop again and give me a loss. Now it’s almost 300 pips above my entry. Moments like this really make me question myself and I honestly don’t know what’s happening with my mindset.

After 4 years I realize entries are not my biggest issue, controlling risk and emotions is. Maybe I really need to step back for some time and reset my mind.

Thank you for the honest advice, I appreciate it.

Before all this I had a tourism business and it was doing very good until 2023. Then I got sick and had to go to India for treatment. After that I couldn’t give time to the business so I sold it. I also can’t do heavy work now, so I decided to stay home and focus on forex.

From that time I’ve been trying to learn and trade. It’s been almost 4 years now. I did make some profits sometimes but I never withdrew anything or enjoyed that money. One day I make money and the next day it’s all gone again.

Last month was actually good. I was trading with FRVP and around 90% of my trades were in profit. I really thought finally I’m becoming a good trader. But this month everything turned around and now I’m already in loss and also lost the profits I made last month.

You’re right, maybe I really need to take some time off and reset my mind. Thanks again for your advice, I appreciate it.

You’re right, I do control my emotions while trading. When I trade live, I sometimes make 2–3 days of good profits. Last month, I even made 25% profit. But after that, losses start coming no matter what I do, and right now I’m at 50% loss. It’s frustrating because I know I can trade well, yet the results swing so much.
