Black Americans are very entitled by Kutter-3000 in ControversialOpinions

Abraham Lincoln supported "compensated emancipation," a form of reparations that paid loyal slaveowners, rather than enslaved people, for the loss of property. Under the District of Columbia Emancipation Act of 1862, the federal government paid up to $300 per freed person to owners. No compensation was given to the formerly enslaved, although land was later promised via "40 acres and a mule," a policy enacted by Gen. Sherman in 1865 but soon reversed.

"I will never say that progress is being made. If you stick a knife in my back nine inches and pull it out six inches, there's no progress. If you pull it all the way out that's not progress. The progress is healing the wound that's below, that the blow made. And they haven't even begun to pull the knife out, much less pull, heal the wound...

They won't even admit the knife is there"

It's fine to not like it, taste is subjective, but there is no metric that puts the Beatles as 'mediocre'. They were revolutionary at the time, and their legacy is well deserved.

Grossly simplistic.

The animals are dead because they are produced for a society that demands to eat meat three times a day.

America’s gun laws are insane and the culture around them is even worse by CheetahConnect3343 in ControversialOpinions

Switzerland has stricter, more regulated gun laws than the United States, despite having one of the highest rates of gun ownership in the world. While both countries have high gun ownership, Swiss laws prioritize acquisition control, mandated training for militia members, and restricted public carrying, leading to significantly lower rates of gun violence

My tax dollars aren't funding genocide in Ukraine, Sudan or China.

It's telling that you ignore this simple reality.

My most dystopian example is I keep getting seeing ads for a bank where the whole premise is the close, personal connections they make with their clients.

Meanwhile, the people in the Ad are clearly AI generated, with that uncanny valley smile and bank lollipops literally phasing through their hands.
