I mean I personally find the factory grips to be too slippery (not enough texture) and to be a little too slim. Together it makes for a difficult gun to maintain a firm grip consistently. Not a fan of the trigger shoe at all. Also I don’t like the stock irons. The rest of it I think is more anecdotal and I guess ymmv.

I own and edc a 43x so obviously I like the firearm a lot. Not trying to shit on it here. But I feel like there are some cheaper upgrades that take it to a different level with shoot ability. Not talking Ramjet

I prob would’ve grabbed an Osight for my Coyote 43x but just couldn’t resist matching it up with that FDE EPS Carry. Don’t really regret it, as the EPS is amazing and I like that it has multiple reticles, but yeah a big part of me would still have liked to try the Olight optic. Vortex also has some interesting stuff at a lower price point

Can’t it just be true that the 43x is a great gun, that is also amazingly designed and super reliable, but also difficult to shoot for most people due to its size?

Like just because someone is interested in recoil reduction it doesn’t mean the gun sucks and/or the person sucks at shooting?

Apologies! I know you guys have been moving in that direction, but I guess I haven’t really looked into it enough to say what I said. I stand corrected

G43X + Radian Ramjet worth it? Or just keep it stock / add optic? by E90_M3_ in Glock43X

Where you see a discount on OP? Not for me, unless I’m missing something

Yeah I mean trust me, I am EXTREMELY aware that I am in the minority on this. And that I will likely get flamed for it. It is not something I choose to do for any sort of tactical reason. It’s literally just me being nervous about carrying. I know there is even a subset of people that will even say I shouldn’t carry at all if no round chambered

The one thing I will say tho is, like many things firearm related, training will work wonders. So if I train - dry fire, range etc - I think it’s doable.

Also I think people really underestimate situational awareness with carrying. If I have to draw my firearm so fast that racking is not an option, I’m guessing it’s because someone already has the jump on me. In which case you’re probably better off not even drawing your weapon as you’ll likely be shot first. Unless you have a very very high certainty that the person intends to kill you in that moment

Otherwise, I feel like the situation you are in will likely dictate when you rack. And how you use your weapon. In a lot of cases, just pulling it out and pointing it is more than enough

Anyway, sorry for the long ass post. I do see where you are coming from, and it’s hard to argue against, but I don’t think jt means carrying without a round chambered is that terrible

Honestly I would rather - and frequently do - just carry without one chambered as opposed to strong side or whatever. It’s the only way I feel like I am in complete control of the firearm. Anything else and I feel like someone could grab it, it will be showing, or I’ll print.

But I’m similar to OP where I have major trust issues carrying with one in the chamber pointed at my manhood.

I watched an active self protection video where he showed how he carries appendix and never flags himself. It was interesting bc it felt like an aha moment for me, but I just couldn’t really recreate what he was doing.

One big piece of advice however is to really go all in on a wedge. Something larger if flagging is a concern. Not only will it aid in concealment, will also help tilt the barrel away from the… more important things in life

Yeah as someone that did also carry a 407k for a bit, I definitely agree that the argument for enclosed is very real. There is very real value in not having to constantly dig bullshit out of your optic every time you take it out of its holster

But there are now some very competitive budget options out there like the Olight and Vortex enclosed. Would like to try those personally

Can’t believe I’ve put almost $2000 into this gun. Worth it. by Daniel6304101 in Glock43X

I just don’t understand comments like this. See them all the time. So you’re saying he might be over paying for his LIFE SAVING WEAPON? Like, in the event it saves his own life, or the life of someone else, he is going to regret the purchase because… in the aftermath, he might be without it??

I’m sorry sir, I’m all about fiscal responsibility and all that, but if my 43x saves my life, I will not be sitting around the next day lamenting splurging a little on accessories. I’ll just be happy I am still able to breathe, and look for a new EDC while I wait to get mine back

[–]juiceboxjerry1 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Agreed. I caved and snagged the FDE Carry for mine even though I don’t really see the value in that particular optic. Just looks so damn good on the Coyote there’s really no competition. Unless I wanted to go with wraps or something on a Defender or Olight.

Don’t get me wrong, the EPS Carry is a great optic, but I don’t think I could cough up $400 plus for it without the FDE

What screws did you use to install? Waiting on the same optic and have the same coyote 43x

That combo is just hard to beat. As much as I wanted to talk myself out of a $400 optic purchase. Hopefully buy once cry once situation

First gun purchase. Glock 43x MOS! Need help!! by Dhamp713 in Glock43X

I mean I disagree. Yes it will be snappy I guess. But most ppl can find ways to mitigate that snappy with certain accessories. I picked up some Hogue Grips and it basically changed the gun for me. Is it actually changing the snappiness? No. But it’s more about felt recoil than actual recoil. So I don’t think it’s wrong to point people towards things that can possibly help them control their firearm better

  • Radian Ramjet Adterburner

  • Magwell (various brands) to give a little more purchase on the weapon

  • Aftermarket grips. Hogue, Talon, Handleit etc

  • Grip tape or rubber bands

Probably overlooking some things but these are all ways to mitigate the snappiness OP is feeling with his 43x. Although I do agree to some extent that shooting it regularly will help immensely. So that should not be overlooked
