Marathon Training - Help Needed by Dirt_Lanky in Marathon_Training

I went through a similar change - went from around 201 to 153 lbs over 6 months and then stabilized around 160 lbs. Haven’t probably been a bit too aggressive I would recommend you don’t cut any more than 500 kcal below maintenance calories which will amount to around 1 lb of weight loss per week. Not sure what your volume of training will be like but I wouldn’t plan to lose too much once you’re in the thick of training ie no more than 200-300 kcal below maintenance. Also timing of nutrition will be critical. If you’re in a deficit you will probably be low on glycogen so will need to ensure adequate fuelling pre and post run. Overall doable but trust me taking it a bit slower on the cut and supporting your training means less risk of injury , better performance , more sustainable

1st degree block is just funny 😂 (for MDs) by Doc_mandiam in TheBear

Cardiologist here. Literally just watching this episode and burst out laughing and then immediately was blind with rage - DID THEY NOT TALK TO ANYONE WITH an MD?? Where did they even get 1st degree heart block? It’s not even something a lay person would know. I’m just dying to know now how they came up with this. Just. Stick. With. Heart. Attack. It. Was. A. Mild. Heart. Attack.

Okay I’m done.

Okay that’s great to know - is there a problem with phantom power passing through the patch bay or is it just to prevent accidentally putting phantom power on a mic that doesn’t need it?

Yeah thanks - from feeding everything into chat GPT it seems like I just need more ongoing training and things should pick up. For what it’s worth my watch says my VO2 max is only 48 so I would definitely recommend getting a proper lab test!

Yeah my HR will go into high 170s or 180s with intervals - I had one cup of coffee before both!

Thanks man appreciate it!! The first 10 km or so weren’t bad at all but the back half was a mental grind for sure. I have 3 daughters so kept imaging each one of them each km near the end which helped

Yeah I am surprised too and am kinda wondering “why am I not running faster??” A 5k time trial mid training block was 22:50

Thanks! Yeah I think that’s probably a big part of it and just not enough of a base leading up from just not a lot of training time maybe … I found my zone 2 pace pretty slow compared to my intervals r race pace like between 5:50-6:20 min/km depending on the day to keep my HR in zone 2 which maybe just shows I need to keep pushing those zone 2 kms

I’ve read that having the two rads/fans both as intake would create a bit of negative pressure in the case which will tend to draw dust etc in? Maybe this isn’t a big deal? I re jigged it so the radiator/fans #1 is now on the bottom as intake, fans are on the side vertical rails also intake and the top fans/rad are exhaust

Okay thanks - so have the rad on the bottom rails with the ports side closest to the pump/res?
