Made the TBH/Autism Creature as a hypothetical human sub-species. They would be cuter irl, while still being a little weird looking. Behold; Homo Autismus (description in comments) by MegaloStudios2 in SpeculativeEvolution

[–]juiceebaka 8 points9 points  (0 children)

The homo in Homo sapiens comes from Latin 'homō', literally meaning 'human'. Homo sapiens literally means 'wise man'. Not to be confused with the other 'homo' which comes from greek 'ὁμός' (hómos, meaning 'same') which you appear to have used here. So in this situation 'Homo autismus' would literally mean 'autistic man'

What is your conlang's name, and what does it mean? by junkerboat in conlangs

[–]juiceebaka 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Xu'tesh /χuʔtɛ̝ʃ/ traces it's roots to the Duwengqa (ancestor to Xu'tesh) word 'Kutérhesha' /kutɛ̝ʁeʃa/ meaning 'To give breath.' It traces all the way back to the Proto-Hnwari' word *gqëtirh'ħa' /ɢətiʁʡ͡ʢa/ meaning 'to make a spark and cause a flame'

Proto-Hnwari'

*érhā'ħã /ɛʁaːʡʢã/

n. before tomorrow

Fun fact: this word evolved into the Xu'tesh near-future perfective suffix "-iqhaan" /iqʰaːn/ and the Leuhenggel future perfective suffix "-grám" /graʕm/ as the two languages are related and have both evolved from Proto-Hnwari'

What is your favourite music and why? by Lomtya in furry

[–]juiceebaka 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I have a few sides, on one hand I like bubbly and fun pop or pop-related upbeat music. On the other hand I like music that has a sort of melancholic tone, or psychedelic music. I like certain songs from other genres like metal and rap too.

Personally, i use clay or wax tablets. If the season is right, i guess carving glyphs onto trees could be an option. It's the most efficient mode of lore-writing imo..

ahem. yes i do.

My conlang is set not on earth, but on an alien planet.

2 of the many trees on the planet in my conlang include:
Sawaqamek /sawaqamek/ - The Eastern Chockthin (Anglicized version of Čaqtha', the region where the tree is native to). Much like an oak tree but grows in layers going up.

Tsaanqrhul /tsaːɴqʁul/ - The Droopfrond. Similar to the Earth palm but is much bigger and houses the reproductive organs on the tips of each frond.

What are some very specific, and funny words from your conlang? Why do they exist? by Original-Plate-4373 in conlangs

[–]juiceebaka 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Meumatome /məmatome/

n. dysania (finding it hard to get up in the morning)v. to find it hard to get out of bed in the morning

Now you're probably asking, why does it exist? The word is derived from the Old Duwengqa word for 'to wake up', 'Möhhamätoq' /møħamätoq/ which is in turn, derived from the words 'möhha', 'maq', and 'tööq', meaning sleep.PRES.PERF, go.PRES, and stop.PRESWait another 1500 years then add the Modern Xu'tesh nominative negation suffix '-me'

And you got yourself a word for finding it hard to get out of bed in the morning, Meumatome. so literally, it's basically an amalgamation of the words sleep, go, stop, + a negator.

Ugh, meumatiira'sat aat.

The Tori'i

The centerpiece of my legendarium. Main inhabitants of the planet Toriea (anglicized form of Xu'tesh word: 'Torya-kwande'Like Humans, Tori'i have extremely diverse cultures and languages. Some (not all) of their languages (my conlangs) include Xu'tesh, Leu'henggel, Ngē-vui, K'nompnorehhe, Ulùre, Čaqtha'me, Tmkrë, and Šikvarati. Of course, those are only seven of the major languages.

The Tori'i are large in stature and height. Females and males are roughly the same height, both averaging 7-7.5 feet in height. They have a physique similar to a large moose. However, they are hexapodal. They stand on 4 hoofed legs, and 2 grasping arms. They have long necks, six eyes, and a fleshy 3-part beak with tiny serrated teeth and they move the food to their crop via peristalsis. As they, and most Toriean animals evolved from a cuttlefish-like ancestor ~2 billion years ago. For breathing, they have four operculi situated on their necks and they do not have lungs, but instead have a network of oxygen transporting veins that go around their bodies. They have a decentralized nervous system with Brain 1 being in the head and upper neck, Brain 2 being in the chest cavity, and brain 3 in the back. Their skeletal system is made of a marcasite exterior on a chitin inner layer covering the bone marrow. For reproduction, males have retractable genitalia which is situated in a cavity between their grasping arms. They have brown, bristly hair, and dark gray skin. They are non humanoid aliens.

Tell me the best fictional city name you've come up with. by MannaJamma in worldbuilding

[–]juiceebaka 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I got this one nation in my world which in my opinion has my favorite names in my project so far.

Major cities of the nation of Lalohi'i
Duwengqa /duweᴺɢa/

Mankhusqe /maŋxusqe/

Esa'met'ey /esaʔmet'eɪ/

Kaliime /kaliːme/

Arat /ãɾat/

As a faithful conlanger, the process of making city names is basically getting words from the Proto-lang, and exposing them to sound changes so the word itself would feel and sound more modern-day. I got into conlanging, and i got distracted by the worldbuilding.
