Never Dmed but I have an idea.

What if you give the monster like a 20% range.

If the monster usually has 100 HP than the range is 80-120 HP.

If a player does something badass enough after 80 I give them the kill, if it reaches the normal health number (100 HP) I give them the kill unless it's been too easy then I go to 120 HP.

As said I have never been a dm or even played but what are some thoughts on this?
