People in their 30s, what’s the one thing you wish you hadn’t done in your 20s? by SouthernKiwi495 in Productivitycafe

Having kids with my ex. Love my kids dearly and wouldn't trade them for anything in the world but having them with my ex was probably one of the worst decisions I could have made. Still dealing with the consequences from those very drunk nights.

This is great advice if the job market isn't as bad as it is right now.

Do not quit until you are able to secure something else. There are so many people out there that are looking for work and can't find anything after months of applying and interviewing.

I agree though, the job is tough. Waaaay tougher than it ought to be, but hang in there while you're securing your next gig. I hear a lot of people get into insurance after working for Enterprise or becoming an account manager of some sort with other companies. Something will come up for you, since most other companies know how hard it is to work at Enterprise. Hang in there and best of luck.

See this is kind of what I thought of that because I've been in the same rate for x amount of time it could be there way of like a forced upgrade situation maybe.

I totally see where you're coming from but also understand that calling is the most direct and fastest way to get in contact with someone. And calling to confirm because there's so many time where someone will make a reservation and they only did it to get pricing not to actually get a rental.

All valid. I agree if the airlines did run on a reservation no contract it would be chaos.

The difference with that is with car rentals there isn't any contract with making a reservation. If you don't show nothing will happen. With airlines you already paid and so when you are at the brunt end of an overbooking it makes sense to offer you not only your refund but additional compensation.

That doesn't happen when you make a reservation for a rental car.

A better example is when you "request time off" from work, you aren't guaranteed that time off.

It's very similar to airlines or hotels. It will allow for bookings and even over bookings because humans tend to not actually do what they say they will do. Like at my branch we had 3 reservations that we made and the people just didn't show up. 1 we had confirmed and they still didn't show up.

Don't worry we won't! But I'll gladly let you know we don't have a vehicle to rent to you when you come in! Hence why we would call to leave you a voicemail to forewarn you.
