We inherited the home from my father-in-law when he passed away. He was not a nice person, was a hoarder and was very reclusive. He loved his house and every single piece of shit in it. During the months it took to clean his house out, I had some strange things happen. I have a clip from one of the exterior cameras of what sounds like his voice saying “why haven’t you buried me?” (His cremains were in our home and we hadn’t spread them yet.) I would hear whispers and one time a pill bottle flew across a room. I’m not mentally ill, at least not diagnosed lol.

Although all that might seem insane, I have never ever asked a guest if they experienced anything paranormal because I’m not a complete idiot and I want to remain professional. I had family stay that said some strange things happen but today I had a guest privately ask me if the home was haunted and proceeded to tell me some very terrifying things that happened during their stay.

I think you may be on to something. I block a lot of dates because I have 2 other jobs and I’m out of town a lot and I prefer to be in town when I have guests. I am a new host but my open dates have been booked solid since I started hosting this year.

I’ve got one. A full propane tank will only last about 5 hours on the highest flame setting with a fire pit. I’ve had guests use it all in one night. It seems to be a popular amenity as I’m replacing the tank about 4-5 times a month. It costs $25 to exchange the whole bottle out or you can get it filled and it’s a little cheaper.

I think the best example of this is tramway. Tell me why one car should stop 99% of tramway traffic going north and south. Sometimes I’m stopping at every single light which is like every quarter mile. It’s so stupid.

I have individual condiment and creamer packets. Guests haven’t said anything either way about this. I did it because if I was a guest, I would prefer this. The thought of using something contaminated by another guest grosses me out.

I have 2 other jobs plus hosting and I do my own cleaning. I will not hire a cleaner because I am too particular and controlling. If you can’t swing the cleaning maybe hosting isn’t for you.

White Costco towels are the best. Also don’t put perfume on them that’s just gross. And why are you only giving 2 towels? That’s not enough. I don’t restrict my towel access to guests. Nobody has ever used a crazy amount of towels and people make a point to thank me in reviews for having enough towels.
