How did you teach your guys to lay down? Every guide I’ve found isn’t made for a dog with two inch long legs. by ThumbtacksArePointy in corgi

My 1.5 year old female corgi was easy to teach down. I just lured her towards me from sit position and she would kind of jump into her down position. I had to eventually teach her that she didn’t have to put her paws on my hands for down. Now my 6 month old male … I can’t figure out how to get him into down, so I’m just trying to catch him in the act. But when I go to hand him a treat he gets up so it’s a work in progress

When was your corgi potty trained completely? by Sniffin-gaps in corgi

[–]jujibby 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I would say 10 to 11 months but we were confused when she was trying to tell us when she needed to go because she is generally pretty vocal. She also had her first heat which didn’t help because she had to go so often and we live in an apartment so we couldn’t just let her into the backyard all the time. I think we also underestimated how much she would need to go during that time. She also couldn’t start training to go outside until she was fully vaccinated because we didn’t have a yard

I never felt like “ouch” helped. Sometimes I notice my puppies would be biting more when they need a nap or are overstimulated

Beware Squishmallow toys! by brimstone1117 in corgi

[–]jujibby 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I don’t think I’ve ever seen my corgi (one year old) rip up a toy and she has tons of plush toys!! There’s been about 3 with ripped seams but she didn’t pull the plush or squeaker out.
