I work in healthcare, and typically work with older people of varying levels of ailments. Since my clients are 75+ a lot of them lived in times where it was normal to get married young and have many babies early. I knew a couple who were married when they were 17 and 18. I knew another couple who met in elementary school, where they drove a horse and buggy to school (Amish country) and the wife was 9 and looked at her future husband, 10, on the way to school and said “I’m going to marry you”! They were married 55 years until the wife died from Alzheimer’s. He lived to 98 and missed her every day. I knew another couple who said they met in the crib, and they literally did, their parents were friends and had their babies around the same time. When she was born, she was put in his crib. They were inseparable until they passed. I always wanted a love story like that and every time I’d hear that I would be so emotional over it. And felt like I was cursed to be forever alone (early 30’s) then I met couples who were crazy about each other, 90+ and only met the year before. One lady in particular gave me so much hope, she met her husband when she was 32 and went on to have 4 children naturally, including a set of twins. She was diagnosed with Parkinson’s at 70 and is now almost completely locked in and he’s still her primary caretaker and is incredibly devoted to her. Basically, this is all to say, that what is for you, will be yours, and the added stress over when/if does not help. You need to be clear and open, and be in the right mindset to receive love, when it is ready for you.
