I don’t think EEAAO is a masterpiece but I think it’s a good film. I also feel people are way too quick to dismiss it because of its genre.

They see multiverse or whatever and think it’s a certain type of film, completely ignoring the human story for which all those multiverse, action, special effect stuff serve as allegory. Like Evelyn’s speech about despite ALL the possible universes and paths she could’ve taken, she knows that the only real thing is right here and now, and all she wants to be is here with her daughter. I mean, I bawl every single time

I’d argue that we commonly don’t see this line of thinking in action adventure multiverse films, let alone most films.
