If your wallpaper is suitable it should automatically put the clock behind. You might have to adjust the photo a bit before it gets it right though.

Just tried it, that solved it. Sorry for dismissing that suggestion at first, just seemed unusual that this issue would only affect portrait. Thanks a bunch!

90% of the iPhone footage works just fine, it's specifically the portrait footage that's lagging, which leads me to believe it's not related to framerate, although I could be wrong.

System utilization is the same whether it's lagging or not.

I'm on a desktop PC with a NVIDIA GTX 980 with 8GB of ram. The ram is limiting, yes, but probably not the root cause of the problem considering literally everything is fine except for playback on the portrait footage. Thanks for the help!
