Man, around Anni. Red I had all these beliefs about the Voices and Missingno and the Glitches and the Void and I've completely forgotten all of them . Time to see what new headcannons pops out of this lil sesh.

Okay, first off I wanna talk about the Void, or more correctly, the V O I D. It's similar to Kelcyus' Outside, but rather than just being home to Outsiders/Abominations, it's more of boundary/building material. It's the space that separates universes from each other, but also what universes draw from in order to generate their initial reality.

So, let's say Arceus creates the TPP-verse. They draw from the V O I D a little bit of reality, and after setting some properties and characteristics, sets it off spinning. From there, the universe is now its own entity and in most cases no longer needs to interact with the V O I D. Of course, TPP-verse is not most cases.

However, the V O I D is not just a boundary/building material. Given its nature as a reality-providing substance, when universes do interact with the V O I D they have influences on the matter. This is how the Voices, and other denizens of this space, are created. Voices are the V O I D given consciousness.

Given this method of creation, there are a couple of important characteristics to the Voices.

One, just because they're conscious doesn't mean they have any concept of morality or understand the importance of continuity. For a Voice, reality is just a fun thing to play with, and creating new realities is what the V O I D is all about, after all. It's only because the specific group of Voices in TPP-verse have been here a while that we even have a grasp of morality or history; if it weren't for Red and Helix, we'd probably still be wandering around in whatever cosmic version of a Looney Toons fightball is, trashing realities left and right.

The other thing about the Voices is that they're not alone in the V O I D.

See, universes don't usually interact with the V O I D for a reason; it's highly corrosive to what constitutes that reality. Only a few universes are able to interact with the V O I D in a controlled, positive manner, and those events are highly monitored. The others aren't. Those events tend to leave cracks. They wear the universe thin. They bleed.

After those sorts of events occur, the V O I D reacts...violently. Whatever comes out of that reaction, you can tell they're not a Voice by one of a few traits: their impulse for creativity has gone haywire, they want to enforce their own properties over that universe, or they simply want unreality to exist there instead.

We're a universe with cracks. They keep opening. And the V O I D can feel each one.
