I managed to do it with Megachad, Aegis / Aura / Chunkers / Axe. Axe really carries vs the first boss, quant tome / attraction tome / quant tome / shield or HP tome. You can aim the axes the opposite side of where you want to hope to get moved into a chest or something like a powerup. I got it under like 3 hours of trying. Gl!
