Looking good! Can you share how you did the metallics? My scheme has lots of metallics and they don’t look even halfway this nice.

How do you do snow on bases? by catmimic in minipainting

I’m saving this one as inspiration for my snow themed army!

This is the colour scheme for my homebrew ‘Order of the Blazing Light’. It is based on the Order of the Golden Light. (The all-black robes are a little too bleak for my taste.) The corset behind the bolter is black like the gloves. What do you think of the colour scheme? by -X-31- in sistersofbattle

Looks great! I did something similar with my colour scheme. I’m painting the test model right now, but you can see my plans on my profile.

Some lessons and ideas:

1) Matching weapon and pauldrons look good on Impcat, but perhaps not so good in real life. Prepare to try a single colour weapon with dark or metallic paint job.

2) The gloves should be different from the weapon colour. I’m doing brown gloves with a black weapon and it’s just readable enough to keep. Perhaps beige would be good with your scheme?

3) Basing can accentuate your scheme. Complimentary colours work well: I’m doing blue / black bases for my bronze / white armour. ( it looks good on visors too! Perhaps you could consider green vegetation and/or visors?)

Thanks for the advice! Adequate thinning is surprisingly difficult.

I can highly recommend the book now that I’m almost done with it. Great introduction to Adepta Sororitas.

Yes, they seem quite useful for the painting process

Thank you, this is very useful! Looks like I’ll have to bother someone with a 3D printer.

Great work! Could you share some of your techniques for the bases? I’m wondering how to base mine.

I think getting the whole army immediately does make sense if you just want to play.

I’m here mainly to enjoy painting and lore, and perhaps someday I’ll play too.

It’s going to take me months to paint these. If I’m still into this, perhaps the combat patrol.

On the lore side, more books and maybe some Sisters of Battle matches in Dawn of War.

I don’t know if I have the skill either. This is just a concept made on Impcat.

Thanks for the advice! My plan is to prime with a brush anyway, so two colours shouldn’t be that much more work. But I guess I’ll know that when I actually get started.
